& it keeps you up off the ground a little meaning your bag will stay dryer this is especially important if you have a down bag that will clump and not hold its loft or warmth when wet.
I got a price for a trijicon tenmile 3-18x44 after seeing them selling new for around 1k mark in the US but from a local ( New Zealand ) shop,
The price came to $5260 nzd or approx $3100USD
I generally get about a year out of my crispy Colorado's before they turn into racing slicks but well worth the extra grip and how comfortable they are.
edit to I'm about 4 sets in and still running them. great boot for what i need.

I have both a 20" 6.5prc and 20" 7 prc
Have hardly used the 6.5 and only just got the 7prc but have shot both at steel and at 500y the 7prc hits so much harder there is a massive difference in real world energy. If that extra knockdown is what you need is up2 you. Im looking to rebarrel the...

Couple of things with Tikka
1 make you adjust the trigger
2 make sure the action is seated on the recoil lug properly an tq to spec
3 take the nubs off the factory stock or get a carbon stock
4 generally all shoot best with hornady ammo almost like they are made for each other.
I have one of the ubs rechargeable ones, its bloody handy, but a little slow. The light is great for at night can sit it up in my gear loft and read a book not using my headlamp juice.
There is plenty of rumors in nz that the superlite (fluted) barrels are from the sako finnlight and this is added by some of them having a slightly different finish to the action and the non fluted colour matchers better.
I have alway gone the fluted way if available and they have alway shot...
Not sure on your end but I know where you can't give it to those in need either, I don't even think private.
Keep in mind that NZ has no natural predators for game animal numbers are in abundance to the point that Doc ( govt) shoots to waste and uses poison to control numbers. In many areas...

I always carry a bipod with me, had it a few times shooting off a stump of fallen tree and used my pack upright as a rear rest to get a stable shot.
the more options you have the better. Takes up very little room and weighs 150g or something crazy.
