I've briefly tried a tensor all-season, xtherm nxt, etherlite xt insulated, and rapide sl insulated, all in wide or wide/long. The etherlite seemed the most comfortable side sleeping, but maybe less warm than similar rated pads. I'd put rapide second, but I don't think the larger side baffles...

I haven't used costas, but I've had that happen for seemingly no reason with others. Sometimes it's just a particular type pressed down on my ears more than others, or my eyes just don't agree with the lenses.
I'm new here & glad to see a thread like this! I've been on & off, but mostly off lately. Living in a drinking state like some others have mentioned, I don't exactly feel pressure to drink but boy socializing is a lot harder when I'm not a little tipsy. But not drinking feels better these days...
