2024 Chevy Silverado 2500HD ZR2 - Gas or Diesel for primarly hunting?

Sadly it's already too late. I bought the gasser. I haven't made up my mind on the procharger yet - especially after someone suggested Whipple. I won't be running off to install a charger right away. It's only a consideration if I have issues hauling. Right now I don't think I will as I'm...

2024 Chevy Silverado 2500HD ZR2 - Gas or Diesel for primarly hunting?

Sweet! I'll take a look. How does the twin-screw feel for off-roading? Does the twin screw feel more like a diesel? I like having the lower/more control of torque of gas vs diesel.

2024 Chevy Silverado 2500HD ZR2 - Gas or Diesel for primarly hunting?

It's about 7-8k installed. It's a bit better than the 10k markup. It doesn't affect warranty as it is easily removed and uses all stock engine parts. As long as we keep the extra compression to 6 psi or less it's the same compression as the diesel turbocharger. No risk of damage or stressing...

2024 Chevy Silverado 2500HD ZR2 - Gas or Diesel for primarly hunting?

Update! We ended up getting a gas non bison 2500hd zr2 for the max payload. We're then adding on a well reviewed after market supercharger called procharger that will get us 600hp and 700 lbs of torque. The extra diesel performance is because it's turbocharged while the gas engine has no charger...

2024 Chevy Silverado 2500HD ZR2 - Gas or Diesel for primarly hunting?

My partner and I are shopping on a new 2024 Chevy Silverado 2500HD ZR2, non bison edition. We narrowed down our choice to this one specific model. We are having a hard time deciding between the gasoline and diesel engines. Our primary use is big game hunting Western states like Utah, Colorado...

Why not more DIY “big eyes”?

Why would that be? Less margin of error?

Why not more DIY “big eyes”?

Good point on them being smaller. On my spreadsheet the TSN-664 comes to 7.98 lbs after I add in the adapter's weight. They have 68.42 cm^2 so it's 8.57 cm^2/lb of performance. I had previously ruled them out as at 7.98 lbs makes the 80mm a no brainer weight-wise. I didn't think about dimensions...

Why not more DIY “big eyes”?

I've decided I want to invest in a big eyes setup primarly for hunting, and secondarily use on the rifle range. I'm having a hard time trying to decide between the Kowa TSN-884 setup @ 10.64 lbs vs the Swarovski STS-80 setup @ 8.56 lbs. The TSN-884 has 121.64 cm^2 of surface area, while the...
