Couldn’t agree more. The mountains are for sure my happy place!
Ended up moving to WY for close to a year during the VID. Was an amazing year! Was so sad when I ended up having to move back down.
Good to know.
Never even thought about using the bino harness for a rear support. Thats a great idea to save weight as I was contemplating carrying a bag.
Very much appreciate this!
So let’s say I wanted to stick with the trekking poles and quick sticks for seated or kneeling shots and only running one bipod (need a setup for glassing). Would the javalin with short legs be the route to go? If so, would you recommend the tac hunt or base model?

You happen to still be in Houston?
Hello, hello!
Thanks for having me, Rokslide.
Joining as I've got across many informative posts in my search for knowledge attempting to prep for my first hunt out West (MT).
Hi -
Been whitetail hunting on and off here in Texas for most of my life, but I’d consider myself pretty green, especially when it comes to elk hunting. I’ll be headed out West this year and am seeking some insight from all you professionals out there haha.
Ideally, I’d like to go when a set...
For all those running this in 280 AI, what ammunition has produced the best results for y’all? Looking to save a little time and go with prior users’ experiences.
