So a little update for everyone. I decided to go out and give it my best effort to get above the smoke. Found a saddle at 9800 and set up for glassing. Ended up only seeing goats :( still cool though. Headed back to the trucked to go to a different area I scouted earlier this year.
Hey all, hoping for some advice on my current situation. Opener is tomorrow and I am currently near Ketchum where the AQI is in the 300-400 range. Hoping for some advice on locating deer when vision is this severely limited. Also wondering about how unhealthy hiking is in this stuff. Any advice...
I did as well. seems like the only reason to go for vortex/outdoorsman at this point would be for brand name after hearing these reviews. Thanks everyone!
Does anyone have any experience with any of the post style bino adapters on amazon? Hoping someone has experience with them as well as outdoorsman/vortex pro bino adapters and can offer a review/comparison.
This is the one I was looking at: https://a.co/d/cmmeDgH
I assume you bought something like this: https://www.facebook.com/share/rxN7ckoe285S4uS5/
What is a good price on a pack like that? I just don't know the market but the fact that a 5-6 year old pack is going for only $200 less than a brand new k4 pack system that seems like a high price. Please...
I think tactacams are hard to beat. I have heard about the moultrie edge cams on the rokcast which sound interesting but only have had positive experiences with the tactacams so I doubt I will change soon. On public I would just use the most expensive camera you would be 100% comfortable losing...
People will give tons of input and feedback to threads like this but follow the deer. Like people before me have said, start high and work low. Don't let the online consensus steer you away from what is right in front of your eyes. The deer probably will not move all that much in-between now and...
Check out the Brockhouse brothers on youtube and instagram. While I think they make some pretty questionable shots, they are super successful in South Dakota. Hope this helps.
Hello from a FNG from Minnesota. I am a long time lurker and listener of the rokcast, but just recently made my account due to needing to get more involved to prep for an upcoming hunt. I grew up hunting whitetail, grouse, pheasants, and turkey. My family is more traditional in the hunting scene...
This is crazy. True nightmare story but unfortunately common. You wouldn't believe how many people come into the ED with not even pain, but just an odd sensation in their chest, only to find out they had a heart attack that began days ago that they have been putting off. I am so sorry for you...
I am going to second those saying they have never used anything while hunting, but I will admit that it is probably something I need to look into. If I have to chose between an inconvenience while hunting or a permanent inconvenience as I age, I am absolutely going to make the decision to deal...
I lost my phone while walking through a swamp on public land scouting for whitetail. Fell out of my chest pocket on a random island in the swamp and didn't realize until probably 20 mins later. Started running back through the swamp frantically looking for it and stopped randomly and put my...
