    Space in a hilleberg soulo?

That is true. But imho Soulo is a bit too cramped for winter camping. In the winter at least I want more room for cooking and all the extra gear. I have taken my Keron 4 GT on several 2 man trips and nerver felt it was way too spacious :)

    Space in a hilleberg soulo?

A Rogen 2 gives a lot more space than Soulo at almost the same weight.

Backpacking belts to hold up your trousers

I just found out that slightly elastic belts are fantastic. At least for me. No need to readjust or so. The pants just sits there where you want them!

    My knife builds

Yes, like most thing a matter of preferences. But a choil gives more or longer usable edge-line. Nevertheless, nice blades!

3+ Season 2 Person Freestanding Tent

Hilleberg tents are imho the best you can get. Check out Niak or Rogen 2. Both excellent even though I prefer tunnel tents myself.

    My knife builds

The first elmax-one and the Bark River look alike. I really think they look good and probably cut just as well. But leaving almost stock thickness at the heel makes field sharpening really hard. I apologise if my language sound harsh or is lacking nuance. English is not my primary language and I...

    My knife builds

Looks well made! But why such a large heel on the blades?

    First Backpack Trip

I agree that bringing a GPS is a responsible thing. I wasn't trying to be macho, but the opposite. Where I go map and compass is the most reliable choice if you have the training and experience. I used to pack a GPS but never used it since it was slow, but I guess those new gen GPS work great.

    First Backpack Trip

No GPS, I am a map and compass guy. For water purification I use a MSR trail base. It is 2 in 1 so I can use gravity when I set up camp and pump when on the go. My compass is the first two Silva I happen to find when packing. Always Silva, usually a ranger and mini. First aid, I use a fairly...

    Baby/Child Carrier Packs

Norrøna Barnemeis is great if you can find one. I have carried 2 of my sons in it. I had an Osprey Poco for my third son. I was good but not as good as the Norrøna. But I prefer minimalistic stuff when it comes to going outside. Less stuff to break.
