    I always carry my stove, like others have said, a hot meal mid-day can really boost your morale plus it forces me to have a lighter at all times in case I have to spend a cold night on the mountain.

    Depends on which unit honestly. The more remote areas that don't get a lot of weekend traffic (Gila, Cibola) they have a pretty healthy fear of humans. Less so in the high traffic forests (Lincoln, Santa Fe).
