Load data for 77 TMK in 223

I had the 77tmk in a fired piece of 223 brass at 2.260 overall and just placing a second one beside it, it almost seems like the bullets taper is inside the neck of the brass. Like the very end of the brass neck on the inside isn't touching the bullet because the taper has started into the neck...

Load data for 77 TMK in 223

Let's keep this thread going. I got some 77tmk and 75bthp to try. Stuck with tikka factory mag and throat for now. I'm curious on the cfe223 heard mixed reviews on it. Have varget and imr4895 as well. What's the longest you guys where able to seat the 77tmk in factory tikka mag

    1-8" twist heavy 22cal bullets

I do have some hornady black ammo that uses 75gr bthp. Will see how they do that's a option as well. I just know the ELDMs have been more popular hunting and shooting wise. Just waiting to get out there to shoot it an will report back!

    1-8" twist heavy 22cal bullets

That's a good point on the speeds for sure. I've seen 3d printed mags for tikka which I have had one. It's ok for range but not trust worthy. Those waterman's in Australia are really nice, but rather not spend that money when ill be updating stock later this fall to one that accepts aics mags...

    1-8" twist heavy 22cal bullets

Ya I think what I'll do is in the stock tikka mag run the 73s unless I can find some 77tmk for fair price. Then once I put it in a chassis with aics mags go try the 80s see how the stabilize in the barrel. I doubt then 88s will says everywhere for 1-7" for them. Then start shooting the barrel...

    1-8" twist heavy 22cal bullets

So I've done more research an found that the 75gr eldm don't work in saami max mag length of 2.26" found a pic online an it looks like the bullet is seated so far in the end of the brass neck ID isn't even touching the bullet. Anyone else experience this?

    1-8" twist heavy 22cal bullets

Nice so anything in the 70grs will do just fine especially if I'm a bit higher elevation. Cant wait to be able to run a aics mag so I can load them out. Not sure what the max coal on a tikka small mag is. Anyone have lots of experience with the 75gr ELDMs on deer?

    1-8" twist heavy 22cal bullets

Oh shoot ya forgot about the mag length in factory tikka for those longer bullets. I do plan to upgrade stock so I can use aics mags, but not for a little bit. Really seems like the 75gr ELDMs are the money happy medium. I do have some factory hornady black ammo that uses 75gr bthp just to try...

    1-8" twist heavy 22cal bullets

Thx for the insight fellas, ya I have heard lots of good for the 75gr eldm. I do like the fact in Canada on average there like 55$ a box where 80gr an up are like 80-85$. What about Berger's? Anyone try some heavier Berger's in the 1-8", I know Berger can be hard to get tho sometimes

    1-8" twist heavy 22cal bullets

I've heard lots about the 77tmk on here especially cause Form has had great success. I was kinda leaning towards the 75gr eldm as there available most places. An seem less likely to be a issue. I also found someone who has 300 75gr Amax bullets prior to eldm with heat shield tip for smoking...

    1-8" twist heavy 22cal bullets

I'm sure this has been talked about in few forums especially regarding the 223. But just wanted to get others experience with heavy 22cal bullets in the 223 with 1-8" twist. I live in the mountains in Canada just north of the boarder, average shooting elevation is 3500', average hunting...

Groups are looking good man be nice to know the fps as well so when ya have a chance up load it. I'm curious on the staball HD but it's looking promising as a alternative if h1000 hard to get.

Let us know how the groups are looking with that staball HD, be nice to have another option that also produces good groups like h1000

I believe my Sako was like that to with factory 147 hornady match in 6.5prc. at least they where stiff bolt lift.

    6.5 prc reloading

H4831sc at 53.5gr, 2850 fps, 143eldx, 24.3" Sako s20, just under max an wikid accurate. The powder has always worked well in many cartridges plus very good temp stability. Easy to find to unlike the RLs or h1000

    6.5 prc + staball hd

Ya the max for hornady was like a grain under what you got. Either good on ya for checking the primers etc but agreed, hornady is softer, i use for practice ammo an lapua for hunting etc. I did notice that to with some factory hornady ammo pressure seemed high. Ya hard to beat the h1000 in...

Yikes I'd personally back off that's pretty much 2gr over max according to sierra, and 1gr roughly over max with hornady. Shoot that in heat of summer may have some real issues. Just my .02
