We don't have as much public land to hunt on as other states, but if you do your research and get out and scout you can find some good deer. Leases have become much more expensive over the last couple of years but are a good option if you have the money.
I've used my saddle when hanging/taking down a tree stand specifically in larger trees when I'm high up...just lets you be more hands-free. However, I just use a harness when I'm hunting because it's easier and more comfortable (in my opinion).
I use Tethrd's Skeletor sticks and Trophyline's EDP platform. I really like both and would recommend joining SaddleHunter. There's a lot of great information on there.
Going on my first archery elk hunt this year...planning on a 4-5 day hunt in the backcountry. I have a gear list put together but wanting to get people's input to see if there is anything I've missed.
