    Elk step to YARDS

I find it funny that counting steps during a stressful encounter seems implausible, yet remembering 5+ yardages from first sight is a breeze. To each their own I guess. Can’t always get a ton of ranges.

    Project 2025 impact

I enjoy reading all the comments about project 2025 and the theoretical consequences to our wildlife from such policy decisions. The same people are also neglecting the actual consequences we’ve seen from implemented liberal policy in Washington, Oregon, and now Colorado. Fear based pandering...

    Sold KUIU Stormstar2 tent

When I ordered this tent I was under the impression that the 86” length was of the footprint, but turns out it’s fly measurement. I’m 6’6 and my 79” pad barely fits. Didn’t realize it until a 2 night scouting trip last week. Great tent just too short for me. $400 shipped PayPal G+S

    Cuddleback distance advice

The biggest thing I’ve found with cudde is camera height position. Try and get it thigh high and as parallel to the ground as possible. Make sure u check card after a few pics to make sure ur perfectly centered. I can get deer walking at 25 yds.

    Colorado bear/elk unit overlap.

Thanks for the information. I ended up going with the Aspen side of the unit. Have the hikers/recreational users increased the amount of bear encounters CPW is having to deal with? Sounds like it’s become a huge burden for officers.

    Colorado bear/elk unit overlap.

I was reading Colorado raised bear tags this year because there wasn't the increased amount of interest they had hoped for with the previous price reduction. I applied for a muz bear and elk tag and you have to choose between one side of the unit or the other. Why wouldn’t there be unit...

The best vest-less system for turkey hunting (imo)

I still wear a vest a lot. I just like having a sneaky option for when it gets thick and i wanna b light. I always have 550 cord with 2 slip knots for a light tote with multiple uses.

    Refillable 1# propane bottles/kit?

Even after the little tank is empty of fuel there will still be pressure in the tank. If you screw the adaptor on the large tank first then attach the little bottle, with that pressure still inside, it doesn’t allow as much gas to flow into little bottle before it’s “full”. If you screw it to...

The best vest-less system for turkey hunting (imo)

I’m switching to a fanny pack and an old lone wolf hang on seat clipped to my belt. Tired of carrying all the stuff I don’t need.

    Refillable 1# propane bottles/kit?

I bought an adapter from the farm store to refill all my #1 bottles off a grill tank. Pays for itself in about 3 bottles. Make sure you empty all the bottles beforehand so they’ll fill fuller.

    Nonresident Ohio Turkeys

I’m heading down to scout Friday. I had figured high elevation accesses would be crowded. 65k acres is a lot of territory to be as crowded as Tranquility up the road. Drove around that place last year opening weekend and there was one lot without vehicles, probably 40 total. I was hoping the...
