2nd Season Doe Tag - Colorado

I am a fairly new hunter and have been fortunate to be on some successful hunts with family and have learned a lot. This year I thought it was time to pick up a tag and go fail/learn on my own a bit. I picked up a 2nd season doe tag in a unit that will have OTC elk and they increased buck tag...

    Sleeping Bag Recommendations

Thanks! Any reason you prefer the quilt over a bag? I do have the extra dampener so I am covered there. I did go with the SXL even though I have a smaller tipi for that reason to hopefully be able get a little more time over night on the burn although I fully expect that it wouldn’t go through...

    Sleeping Bag Recommendations

I recently picked up a Seek Outside Cimarron + SXL Stove and will be doing a 3rd season hunt here in Colorado. I am curious what sleeping bags you all run? I’m debating getting a 15 degree and using my down coat and pants if I need them for warmth. Thoughts?

    Carbon Tipi Poles

Oh ok good to know thanks! I was looking at an Argali tipi, but I did get a nice deal on a SO Cimarron. I will maybe consider the Argali pole!

    Carbon Tipi Poles

Given I’m new to the tipi game, I am thinking I’ll end up with a pole of some sort. I have looked at the argali ones and they are more budget friendly, I am just not certain if going the more budget route is worth it.

What non-hunting podcasts do you listen to?

I am in the same boat. I found I would blow through new episodes of my usual podcasts … so when I saw Spotify premium allows access to audiobooks I started exploring there! A good audio book can take the place of a bunch of podcast episodes since they can be like 8 hours long!

    Carbon Tipi Poles

I see, ok good info! Do you think there could be better alternative poles to use material wise?

What non-hunting podcasts do you listen to?

I know you asked for Podcast requests, but I’ve recently filling my ears with audiobooks when I get through my go to podcast new listens. I have been listening to Cowboys, mountain men, and grizzly bears recently on Spotify. Good stories to listen to either on long drives or exercising!

    Carbon Tipi Poles

Thanks! That is a great idea. Have you used trekking poles for smaller tipis?

    Carbon Tipi Poles

I picked up a used Seek Outside Cimarron. No tipi pole included, so I am in the market for one. Before I go with the Seek Outside pole, does anyone prefer a different brand that may be better? Thanks in advance!

    Backcountry Lite Tipi?

Late to the game here, but was looking at these as I shopped for my first hot tent. I went and saw it in person with the owner of the company. I think it has been tested by him in earlier seasons. Didn’t seem like there had been a lot of product testing with it in general, especially later...
