I did not. I always wear a large and bought large. I usually wear it with just 1 layer under and it’s loose enough for me. The good thing is you can always exchange it if needed 👌
I have the same. I am apprehensive leaving my swaro el's 10x42 at home and got into this conundrum. I think I will do the same with my 10x30's and the spotter. Will just have my 16x42's in my truck so I am not carrying anything and if it doesn't work, I can always swap something out if I get out...
I will have my truck but most likely will be spending 2-3 days at a time 4-5 miles from the truck. I certainly could take both and if I need to make a change, I can always grab the other pair. Just moreso curious of other folks thoughts.
My Spotter will be the razor 56mm spotter.
Rifle elk hunt. Colorado. 2nd season.
I have the sig Zulu 6 in 10x30 and 16x42
If you only had the option to choose 1, which are you taking.
I’ll add, I will have a small spotter with me as I digiscope.
Not really. Breaking down camp and moving isn’t ideal but it’s way more mobile when it’s light and not so cumbersome to pack it with the backpack and move. Especially if I can split it with a hunting buddy.
Appreciate the comments from everyone. Here is my dilemma and more detail.
I’ve got a Cimarron and medium stove and I’ve got a large 12x12 canvas tent with stove.
Ive hunted Colorado, 2nd season, many times over. The comfort of a big base camp tent is nice and a hike away from home. Yet l...
I’ve got a bunch. Lately I’ve been using the Eberlestock recon. I typically have my rangefinder attached in its own pouch. Then have a scent/wind checker. If anything would be extra in a pocket, it would either be my tag or my phone. Pretty simple.
Discussion point to see what folks prefer.
Scenario:
Late Season Rifle Elk Hunt. Let’s use Colorado 2nd or 3rd season as the example.
Would you rather have a light hot tent for 2-3 people and sleep higher on the mountain or have a base camp with a large outfitter tent and a big stove but...
I’ve got both. In reading some of the other responses, I’d def have a tripod and those hd’s if you saved the cash from not upgrading to the UHD’s. I’ll say the UHD glass is better but you pay that penalty in size and weight.
There is something about the small punch the razor hd offers with...
Pad will make a difference. I went from a 1.5 to a 5.1 and it was noticeable in the later season hunts. I believe 9 degrees was the lowest I experienced the year I made the switch. I also added a liner to assist later on in the season and felt that was a good option moving forward regardless of...
I have the kings xkg anorak and love it for my whitetail hunts. Have never tried an anorak for western hunting and that particular one that I use would be terrible out west but in context of liking it, it’s pretty awesome. This thread has me looking into other ones now seeing that there are...
I’d have to say attack pants. My favorite piece overall. I don’t go anywhere without my puffy though as well which is the super down pro. While nothing is a must have, these are my hands down favs.
