Just got a pair of guides from the sale. I’m a 33/34 in every pant imaginable. 34’s aren’t baggy, but they’re not athletic cut. They fit just like a 34/34 Jean would on me. 6’/185
Did the same myself last year. 22-250 to 243. Only runners with 75 vmax are less than ideal shots. I still run 22-250 during the day and love it, but glad I went 243 for thermal.
Also seen the zombie effect. Usually find them later on. Within 100 yards or so.
Hogs aren’t an issue here, but my primary night gun for coyotes is 243.
Daytime I use 22-250, thermal is all 243. Very few spinners and runoffs with a 75 VMAX.
Completely unscientific, but nighttime dogs seem to run harder than daytime, regardless of shot placement.
Just went through this with a coyote rifle. Top two were the Tikka and Browning. Both excellent rifles, but after extensive fondling I went Tikka. It just felt better built than the Browning. Full disclosure, I went with the Roughtech stock, not the standard synthetic.
We pay for it. That’s where it comes from.
How long before they stop paying for the loss, and expect cattlemen to be accustomed to it, or request proof of state approved deterrent uses?
Have owned most brands. Still have a couple Hondas and they’re bulletproof for the most part. Im a fan of mechanical shifting and very little electronics. Less to go wrong in the woods.
