He has a ball mount that replaces an existing swivel stud in the stock, so it’s not that much different from Harris or any of the similar designs that attach to a swivel stud. Good review though.
Leofoto LS series tripods are a great tripod at a great price. If you like the Vortex brand, the Switchback Carbon is a similar option but you don’t have to worry about beating on it too hard because it’s covered if you’re a little too rough.
Order the “Buck, Buck, Moose” book from Hank Shaw, or just read his website, honest-food.net . He does an incredible job explaining everything from field to table and how it affects the quality of your experience.
Your Viper 4-16x50 HSLR is a great optic, I wouldn’t question that upgrade from the Diamondback. Greater optical clarity and a much more forgiving eye box. Medium Talley rings should work just fine.
Dot size is a personal preference. Your best bet is to go to a store and look at each one in person. Your eye is going to see the dot differently from how someone else might.
Make sure to adjust the dot to the minimum brightness level necessary for the environment you are going to be using it...
Most of the noise from the spring piston (which is what I assume you’re referring to when you say “pump guns like the Gamo’s”) comes from the gun internally, so moderators on the barrel, do very little to suppress any noise.
