    FNG from New Mexico

I'm a born and raised New Mexican, lived in CO for 7+ years before returning some 6 years ago... Never lived below 5000' in my life, always loved being outdoors. I have a healthy respect and enthusiasm for firearms and am experienced in backpacking and fly fishing. I've hunted rabbits and prarie...

Trail runners / Fast Packing / hiking shoes

I've owned Altra Lone Peak mids (older version, the newer ones aren't as good), they were great but unsurprisingly didn't last more than a couple years. I tried the Inov8 G 400 but the arch was in a weird spot for me despite trying multiple sizes. Have heard good things about Topo athletic...

    Bacon Grease

This is what I do. I keep it in the freezer and also use it to make cornbread, bait for mousetraps, general purpose cooking grease if I want that flavor etc.

    Your Favorite budget-ish fly rod

I've never casted a Moonshine nor personally known anyone who owns one. I've been told (and read many times online) they're made with cheap Maxcatch blanks and are an overpriced marketing / snake oil brand. I have fished some Maxcatch rods and they're not bad at all but they're also $30 vs $200+...
