I’m currently waiting the 10 days to pick up my new CZ 457 American in 17hmr. While waiting I’ve gone ahead and purchased the scope (Vortex 4-16x42 Diamond BDC, 1” tube) and am looking into ammo.
My question is, with anyone who has this rifle, what rings work for you? I currently have a set of...
Thank you for this. Solid advice, I’ll try out what I have and see if it need adjusting after. I’m not trying any precision shooting, just as long as it hits the squirrels when I need it’d, that’ll be fine.
I have a Vortex 4-12x40 BDC rifle scope that I originally bought for my .270 Weatherby Vanguard last year. The eye relief on it was too far and, unless I added a Pic rail, never could get it just right. I ended up swapping it for a Vortex Viper 4-16x50 LRHS scope, so I have the smaller...

I'm in CA and mostly pig hunt but want to get into deer and elk. I currently have a Vortex Diamondback 4-12x40 scope (Deadhold-BDC reticle) mounted on my Weatherby Vanguard .270, with low-extended Talley rings.
While I feel like the scope I currently have is good magnification for my hunts (and...
