    What do you do to save on spending $$

    Agree with much of this - especially making a plan that you can stick to. One thing that's surprised me is that spending a little more in one area can save you a lot in another. We buy higher quality groceries, and as a result spend much less in going out to eat since we're happy to eat at home.
