I had a RX-5000 and returned it and got the 5K. The 5K has much better built in ballistics support in my opinion.
Comes with Applied Ballistics Light (can be upgraded to Applied Ballistics at cost) and you can create specific bullet profiles on an app that get downloaded to the 5K. The 5K has...
I have not, but I put a piece of foam between the rifle and rifle holder strap. I did this to prevent stock scratches and it's worked great and is snug.
I have Crispi Lapponia's in wide and Salomon Mid GTX's in wide, and both are working for my wide feet.
I did try on Merrell's (not sure what model an if they were specifically wides), but they were too wide. That may be an option for super wide feet.
I have Lapponias and like them a lot. However, I have been transitioning to a Salomon Mid GTX and using them more. They come in wide which I find I need. They are a possible transition shoe for someone going from boots to trail runners.
I forgot to mention that I like the 2.5-10x24 because it is 17 ounces. Not a huge deal compared to the 2.5-10x42, but it should also have more mounting flexibility due to the straight/straighter objective. The 2.5-10x42 is short and I could just barely make it work on my Win 70 long action.
I know it's a different pack but the Exo rifle carrier on the K4 pack has worked great. Not so much as a quick release setup for me, but as a solid secure way to carry a rifle. Stays secure slinging the pack on and off. I think the elastic on the pouch that hols the buttstock is the key.
I have used the GPO 8x32 mentioned earlier. I found them to be great and bought mine on another forum for $290 (a new warranty replacement). Very happy with them.
I am using a Hill People Gear kit bag with an added bino pouch. Allows for concealed carry and bino carry with room for the phone too. It can get a bit heavy depending on the handgun and binos being carried.
I purchased a Leupold RX-5000. It ranged great but has horrible ballistics support. The provided ballistic groups are only good if you zero at 200 yds. Customer support was no help addressing my use of a 100 yard zero range.
I returned it and bought a Sig 5K (the same price as the Leupold). It...
I haven't read through every post so not sure if the Trijicon Credo 2.5-10x36 has been mentioned. Not sure why it is 0.1 ounce heavier than the 2.5-15x42 but it is a FFP scope.
I have the Lapponia 2 and also the Nevadas. Never tried the Altitude. For me, both the Lapponias and Nevadas are equally comfortable, but the lighter weight and flex of the Lapponias really is nice and less fatiguing. If the terrain is really rocky and uneven (like a trail with lots of golf...
