    Swarovski to release 14x NL’s

Thank you for the update. In a nutshell, I believe the below are true statements (my personal findings and not sure if they align to yours): a) the slight difference in magnification (14.44 vs 15x) is not that noticeable b) the 70 degree AFOV vs the 63 deg of the SLC adds an immediate wow...

Which one are you choosing, NL Pure 14x52 or 10x52?

I tried the 14x52, and it is certainly a good product. And very handholdable, especially when compared against the SLC, which was not hand-holdable. The 14x52 was steady in my hands, while the 15x56 SLC did not feel anywhere as steady. Maybe it was the AFOV or maybe it was the ergonomics, but...

Which one are you choosing, NL Pure 14x52 or 10x52?

I agree with this assessment, since it aligns to my experience from when I had the 12x42. I have not personally tried the 10x50 (but have tried the 12x50EL), and from the specs, it should be a really bright binocular. On the NL side, if the 10x meets your needs, then it would be the 10x52NL...

Which one are you choosing, NL Pure 14x52 or 10x52?

I agree. I had the 12x42NL and extensively tested the 14x52NL. If I am looking for a single, do-it-all, I would go with the 12x42NL. It is the extraordinary AFOV of 71 degrees and a 339ft FOV (for a 12x) that tips the scales in favor of it. If there was a 12x52NL, that would have been my...

    NL Pure 14x52 owners

If the 14x52 was a 13x52, it would have resulted in a larger 4mm exit pupil, which would have made it brighter in dimlit situations, in addition to a FOV of around 320 ft. A fantastic middle ground in terms of brightness, magnification and FOV. I liked the 14x52 (actually a 14.44 x 52) a...

Which one are you choosing, NL Pure 14x52 or 10x52?

Yup, I used to have the 12x42 NL at one time, and along with the forehead rest, I could easily handhold it steadily. I now have an 8x42 NL. I might look at the 14x52 as an addition, or if the 12x52 drops, then I will sell the 8x42 and stick with the 12x52 as the only option (one and done).

Which one are you choosing, NL Pure 14x52 or 10x52?

Yeah, a larger objective will let in more light, which is always a good thing, in poor lighting situations (dawn/dusk). Has zero impact on FOV. 10x42 and 10x52 will have comparable FOV (within a few feet of each other) and thus a future 12x52, can be expected to have a comparable FOV to the...

Which one are you choosing, NL Pure 14x52 or 10x52?

No, a potential 12x52 can never have the FOV of the 10x42. The numbers 12 and 10 represent magnification, which in turn impact the FOV. The higher the magnification, the narrower becomes the FOV. I am talking about a future 12x52 having the same FOV as the current 12x42, with a 71degree...

Which one are you choosing, NL Pure 14x52 or 10x52?

A 12x52, with the same FOV as the 12x42, would have been the golden middle that would have sold more than either the 14 or the 10, IMHO. Great handholdability, and significantly more light than the 12x42.

Which one are you choosing, NL Pure 14x52 or 10x52?

More light yes in the 52s. Especially noticeable during dawn/dusk. But zero difference in magnification between 10x42 and 10x52.

How is the hand-holdability of the 14x52 vis-a-vis the 12x42 ? From my past experience, I could steadily handhold the 12x42, when paired with the headrest, and hence curious about the 14x52.

    Swarovski SLC vs Zeiss SFL?

I have the 8s, the 12s are sold. The 8s and 12s are entirely different animals, with both serving their respective purposes. The 8s are certainly more multi-purpose, while the 12s, due to their large FOV is surprisingly more useful than traditional 12s with their narrower FOV. If I must...

    Swarovski to release 14x NL’s

When I had my 12x42, I could comfortably and steadily handhold it, when paired with the Forehead rest. I have really steady hands. I would be really curious to know about the handholdability of the 14x52, when used with the forehead rest. Much appreciated if someone could provide feedback...

    Swarovski to release 14x NL’s

Absolutely correct. The Objective just drives in more light. FOV is determined by the design at the eyepiece end.

2024 Swarovski coming out with anything new?

This is of course an old thread, but yes, Swarovski did announce a couple of larger NL Pures......14x52 and 10x52. Roughly the same price as the 42mm versions. Reviewers say the 14 is really a 14.7, which makes it a 15 for all intents and purposes. And the 10 is closer to a 11.

How to balance a Swarovski ATX with 115mm lens

I think it does work just fine, but I don't look at this "solution" as comparable to a decent ground-up design. I look at it more as a "hack that works"

2024 Swarovski coming out with anything new?

For an 18 (and even a 15), going with 56mm would be a better pairing than a 50mm objective. With a 50mm paired with the 18x, the exit pupil would be tiny (less than 3mm), and barely usable at dusk.
