I have owned several tikkas and savages. All have shot well. If this is a gun that is going to be used in the woods alot buy the savage. The nicer fit and finish of the Tikkas have never added up to an advantage when I hunted with them. Put the little money you save into better optics. Just my...
Hello, wife bought me a new press for Christmas. After taking it out of the box I noticed 2 small powerful magnets stuck together in the bottom of the box. I cannot find any info as to what their purpose is or where they go???
Marlin lever action 30/30 and an old Tasco world class scope. I have many "better" guns I could use but the ol' Marlin was my dad's and killing deer with it makes me feel like I'm 14 again.
I'd love to hate on Powerbelts but a good friend shoots the 348gr ones over 90gr of triple seven out of a TC Omega and has killed more bear and whitetail with that load just about anyone I know. He's usually not trailing either. Dead on the spot. I think with any muzzleloading projectile it's...
My Backcountry has recently gone down the road at a 1,000$ loss to a close friend who wanted a "project". Regardless of their progress I have zero desire to purchase from them. There are other manufacturers that already have proven quality and will more than likely beat the Arkansas clans prices...
To be completely honest im not upset with the outcome. I don't expect a company to warrant issues from a shop that sells or folds. I was just disappointed with how they have been handling the transition
Had a 280ai backcountry that would not shoot no matter the load. I knew the answer but figured I would give contacting Nighthawk a try. Instead of telling me they are not doing any warranty work from Montana they just choose to ignore every attempt at contact. Wouldn't buy a hotdog from those...
Price aside it's hard to beat Blackhorn without going smokeless. Honestly for me I don't worry about loading a fouled barrel as I hunt with a clean bore. I've found that on week or longer backpack hunts a fouled barrel will accumulate a fair amount of corrosion even with Blackhorn contrary to...
I have a Cooper 50cal as well and tried the bore locks and did not get very good accuracy at all. I shoot 100gr by volume BH with 300gr Thor hammers. They need to be sized and my gun takes the .502 diameter. I assume yours would as well. Good luck!
I shoot 300gr Thor over 120gr BH 209 out of a Copper 22 ML. 1" to 1.5" 150yd groups consistently. It's my elk setup but has been poison to whitetails and bear in VA last 2 years.
