I'm saw you had the leica 10x32 pro's but didn't like them in low light. I've been eyeing that size in a RFB, are the 10x32 swaros noticeably better in low light? The spec sheets show swaro is 4oz lighter and has a .9 better twilight factor. Light transmission was the same.
10x42's definitely...
Not sure if your interested, but there's a bolt on solution the Accu tac adapter. It weighs half an ounce. I have them on 2 rifles, they work just not as clean looking

Amazon carries them
Disregard! I was talking about zone 1. I gave totally useless information for your questions. Wish they were label traditionally left to right 1, 2, 3, 4
Thanks Doc! It's time to drop the hammer for a WM bag and I wondered if I could get away with a 6 foot bag, save a couple $ and shave a couple oz weight. I'm 6'2" you and the others on here make it pretty clear a long bag is the way to go
I'm in South Anchorage. And your right, it's a really big move to come here but it's one I wish I did 20 years ago instead of 5. I came up from Utah and everytime I go visit I don't miss it. I don't ever want to go back.
It's been a record breaking year for both snowfall and cold. Thankfully...
Gather all the information you can here, it's a great start. It won't take long to get an understanding of how to prepare. Target a herd and figure out if you can get yourself to their location, Alaskas ADFG website will show you general herd locations. Most of the easily accessible herds have...
Im with you... better mpgs equals more range and less tankering, which is a big deal for 400 mile trips. The SJX gas usage seems relatively good given it's power and performance capabilities. My main concern is reliability. It does appear to be better than an optimax, but no where near outboard...
Congrats! Glad you scored. Looks like a hunt with some promise. Very high draw possibility and one of the better success rates. I'm looking forward to hearing your story. As of now I have it as draw pick #6, the 5 others are all slotted for Jber. I thought of moving my #5 pick over to this hunt.
Nope, not skinny. Heavy v8 boats need a little more draft, but most sport jons advertise 3 inches of water, add the full uhmw (plastic) bottom and it provides more ability and protection
From the research I have done the Yamaha is a power head rating, so a 25hp would be 17hp at the jet. Tohatsu and mercury compensate for the jet loss. For example, a 40hp is really 40hp. Both use a 60hp power head.
What do you have? And what are your likes and dislikes if you don't mind sharing. I've always liked outboards for longevity and reliability, but from what I understand the inboard is the performer
Welcome Frontier, Ouch rough to hear how tough Texas is for the general masses to hunt. I moved from Utah and thought it was getting bad, too much demand not enough supply. I'm now in Alaska and everyone here also talks about how much better it was 20 and 30 years ago. Good luck. I'd say out of...
