    Maven’s illumination sucks?

The pin prick in low light is one of my favorite features of this scope. I wanted a setup that would work well for western hunts with opportunities at ranges between 300-600 yds but also be appropriate for deer and bears back home where it is heavy dark timber and the shots are often under 100...

    Scope for 300wsm

This setup was really an effort to try and minimize recoil/ muzzle jump in a magnum .30 cal. with a suppressor not a brake. If I'm on a bench or prone in the 6-8x magnification range it is possible for me to spot shots if I do my part. Much, much more possible than my 700cdl 300 win mag with no...

    Scope for 300wsm

I am by no means an expert, but I have found the Maven rs1.2 to be an excellent fit for my 300wsm. I took this bull @ 550 yds off my pack and it was more than enough magnification to make the shot. The glass is clear and the reticle is great for hunting applications. I am a huge fan of the small...

    Rib mount for red dot

I am putting a Venom 3 MOA red dot on my wife's Browning micro Midas for turkey hunting. I decided to go with the rib mount system and am looking for any feedback between the Meadow Creek, Warne, and Truglo mounts. They seem very similar in design and price so just curious if anyone has had a...

This stock will be going on a Tikka action, .300 wsm with a 22" carbon six barrel. I already have received the UM Tikka rings, level and ADG brass from @Unknown Munitions ( customer service and ship time was awesome on all of it, so thank you for that). The tear pattern looks great, so...

Any feedback on Vortex long range classes? There Edge and outdoor training center are within two hours for me. I was planning on going to them over the winter/spring after hunting season, but now I'm not sure if is the best use of my money after reading this.

Is the $130 price currently on the website the sale/intro price or is there something coming up? I am going to be picking up a set of these, the rokstock, and the level for a 300 wsm build I am putting together. I was able to get 300 wsm ADG brass through UM in October.

    #4 buckshot choke combo

Thanks for the reply. Over choking was exactly what I was worried about. It was his dedicated turkey gun and has an old non-ported undertaker choke in it. I can't find anything about what diameter those are anywhere. I will try a Carlson's .690 next if I can't get this one to work.

    #4 buckshot choke combo

Looking for load and choke combo for #4 buckshot out of a 26" Mossberg 835. I will be hunting bobcat with dogs for the WI 2nd season this year. The gun was my father's and I will be using it for sentimental reasons so I am just looking for load and choke combos that people have gotten to pattern...

    Crispi vs Kenetrek

I have only used Crispi with no slip issue. Do you have a preference with comfort/fatigue having used both? If it depends on the application that is good info too. I have been hearing a lot about people going to a really stiff sole even for situations that don't involve the more technical terrain.

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

@Formidilosus, I hear constantly about the "saving meat" argument. What I never hear about is the effect of stress on meat quality. This is well documented in the agricultural meat processing world. An animal that experiences high levels of stress before death ( being shot and running for even a...
