Does it make any sense to apply for trophy e;l units in Arizona? I have 3 points but after reading this not sure I will continue if it takes 100 years https://publiclandjurisdiction.com/nonresident-elk-draw-odds-in-western-states/
Colorado Parks and Wildlife Report reveals 54% of OTC elk hunters are Nonresidents, Colorado Resident Hunters on Decline from Non-Resident Overcrowding. https://publiclandjurisdiction.com/does-colorado-sell-more-nonresident-elk-tags-than-all-other-western-states-combined/
The answer to overcrowding is OTC for residents only. Residents are down by 8000 in OTC since 2014. Nonresidents are up by 10000. The resource is the residents and nonresidents should be capped just like all the other western states. Money is not an excuse to sell out the residents and...

I think the point of the article is that the 7 other western states have 2.5 times as many elk as Colorado but those 7 western states combined, sell fewer nonresident elk tags than Colorado. Colorado is so overhunted and their residents should be frustrated. Here is an article that says Wyoming...
Here are the numbers on the tag allocation for Colorado. Very interesting, probably better off in Montana. https://publiclandjurisdiction.com/colorado-sells-more-nonresident-elk-tags-than-all-7-western-states-combined/
I have heard there are computer programs that are doing it now. Nearly impossible to get a reissue tag plus with the 11 a.m. launch, 10,000 hunters are sitting at their computers.
