    Transporting venison in a cooler

My post was probably misleading by specifying a 90 minute ride. I'm preparing for a circumstance where I kill something on Friday, have it in the cooler by Friday night, hunt again on Saturday, then drive home on Sunday.

    Transporting venison in a cooler

This seems simple enough. I was concerned about degradation from having the meat directly on ice. Maybe it's a non-factor. With the drain plug open, it shouldn't get soupy in the bottom.

    Transporting venison in a cooler

I could use some advice on how to package and transport bone-in quartered venison in a cooler. In previous years, I've simply dropped my deer off at the processor on my way home from my buddy's house where I hunt. This year I would like to process them myself. I'm planning on hanging and...

    Which 350 Legend for whitetail

I ended up getting a Vanguard Sportsman's Warehouse edition. I was interested in this specific variant for the rust protection provided by the cerakote finish. The action is very smooth and I like the two-stage trigger. The gun shot well enough at the range producing ~1 inch groups at 100...

    Recommendations on In-Ear Earpro

I ended up buying a pair of the Walker Silencer 2.0 BTs. I bought them at Sportsman's Warehouse, but they were willing to price match Midway USA at $149. I've worn them on several lengthy duck hunts and a trip to an outdoor range. So far, I've been pretty happy with them. They're comfortable...

    Recommendations on In-Ear Earpro

I'd looked at ISOtunes as well. Based on subjective feedback that I've seen on forums like this, the ISOtunes are supposed to be decent, but people tend to prefer the Walkers.

    Recommendations on In-Ear Earpro

I'm looking for a pair of active hearing protection earbuds that I can wear while hunting. Normally, I wear Howard Leight Impact Sports, but I don't like that they interfere with hooded jackets, impact cheek weld, and have godawful wind noise. I think I may end up getting a pair of Walker...

    Blind on a Sportspal Canoe

You mean you laid it over yourself and used the boat as if it were a layout blind?

    Which 350 Legend for whitetail

I'm thinking about buy a 350L Vanguard for myself. I'm not a fan of some of the design features on the Ruger, mostly the magazine. Is it much more accurate than the Vanguard?

    Blind on a Sportspal Canoe

I recently acquired a 14 foot Meyer's Sportspal canoe that I'm planning on using for duck hunting this season. At 58 lbs, it's light enough that I can pick it up and put it on my roof rack by myself. With 650lbs of capacity, it should be more than capable of hauling two hunters and their gear...
