    So freaking happy

I think it was Honda that had some self-adhesive tape that was coated with something spicy. You would wrap it like wire loom to keep everything underneath from being chewed on. I’ve used it a few times and never had any issues, but didn’t have severe mice problems.

Scope Mounts for Kimber Mountain Ascent

Can you get a picture? I’ve read that the backcountry’s overhang the Kimber action in quite a few reviews, all highly negative reviews. I fine with aesthetics being off, but wasn’t sure how much they overhang.

How I Modify My Tikka Factory Stocks

Absolutely! You could definitely just do the buttstock section, or just the butt and grip section, and mate it to the inletting and forend of a factory stock. Polymer is not the easiest to bond to, but with a little planning I think you’ll be fine. I bonded in the inletting section from a...

    Barefoot Style Steel Toes

Just saw that the barefoot steel toe last is now added to their custom page. The delay was too long for me, so I got a different pair, but excited to try the Jim Greens for my next pair.

Browning X-Bolt 2 Speed, 7 PRC Field Evaluation

What exactly is the anti-bind feature on this action/bolt? Is it the Teflon pad in the second picture, or what looks like a screw in the first picture? @Formidilosus Any chance you could take a few pictures of the “anti-bind” feature?

Lightweight Kimber Build with Custom Carbon Fiber Stock

Magazine: 84M hunters come with a removable box magazine, but apparently the earlier ones had some problems. Mainly that it’s extremely hard to fit the third round into the magazine, and then with three rounds the magazine doesn’t latch into the stock when the bolt is closed because everything...

Lightweight Kimber Build with Custom Carbon Fiber Stock

Shootability? I’m all loaded up to go shoot a lot this weekend, so I’ll let you know. However, my previous stock build had a very similar grip, similar recoil pad height, and a negative comb (although with a funky curve) and I thought it was very easy to get behind. I degreased and loctited...

    Custom Knife Sheath

I would look into kydex. Easily formable with simple tools - heat gun or toaster oven and gloved hand or pieces of foam can do the trick. It’s light, has great knife retention, and doesn’t absorb any water. One thing I’d advise is to add a drainage hole/slot so any water can drain out and not be...

Lightweight Kimber Build with Custom Carbon Fiber Stock

Absolutely! I’m putting this out there to encourage others to try it too. I’m no composites engineer, just going for it and seeing what happens. Overall, the whole stock has at least two layers. I’m working from a box of super generously donated scraps, and I didn’t always take the time to look...

    Ultralight Ultralight Rifles

Any consensus on the lightest folding mechanism? The SB tactical BTFA was mentioned earlier at 3.4 ounces - anything lighter out there?

    Carbon Fiber Stock Repair?

If you like the stock design, I would fill the butt/grip section with some kind of spray foam so you have a backing and keep the shape. Next, sand the paint and a bit (not all) of the carbon away at the crack plus a few inches on either side. Then add a few pieces of carbon over top. I would...

    Carbon Fiber Stock Repair?

Does it have some kind of foam core, or is it hollow?
