    Schnee Kestrel

    I like mine. They have held up well. My only complaint is it took a while to break them in. Being a 1 flex stiffness they were harder to break in than my Timberline's. Great boot though. Sole holding up well. Still waterproof. Ankle support is not comparable to the Timberline's though.

    Guys that drive a long ways to hunt, what are your less common(but important) pieces of gear/tools you're sure to keep in the truck?

    Tire plug kit and air compressor along with everything else mentioned above. I don't ever have room for spare tires though.

    Your fav Darn Tough

    I would recommend buying different thicknesses and trying them on some hikes. I love the feel of a thicker Darn Tough but my feet get tore up with blisters from sweat. I have to use the lightweight hiker. They go on tight like a layer of skin.

    I did not like how it attached to a bow without the dovetail(universal fit for Hoyt). Access to the fasteners were difficult to get to because it is so compact. For me to get the center shot set the launcher was hitting the riser by a small piece of rubber overmolded onto it.

    Trinity is by far my favorite. Tried an epilson and didn't care for it. Sent it back. QAD are good too but not as heavy duty.

    Stan Onnex fraying D loop

    Inspect the hook of the release for a sharp edge or burr. Might need to take a little sandpaper to that sharp area. Could call Stan also. They might tell you to send back.

    Chew up a piece of tootsie roll and put on an old school mouse trap. Mouse can't get it off. Been catching mice for 3 years on the same piece of tootsie roll.

    Any of you used the MSR Trailshot Pocket Pump?

    Not a pump but the Katadyn Befree is amazing compared to a Sawyer squeeze. Put the Befree on a Hydrapak seeker bottle. I have been very impressed.

    Try a half bag of Idahoan Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Chicken Ramen mixed. Then I like to cut up a spam packet or two and throw it in there. Sounds gross but tastes amazing.
