    My First Suppressor

Thanks for all the input gentleman. Based on your recommendations I opted for the Dead Air Nomad 30. Lots of recs for it in here and other threads. Great reviews. It appears to meet all my needs for this purchase. Got it for $800 at SilencerShop. After stamp/Trust I'm right at Budget.

Hoping to get some advice from the group. I’ve researched a few over the past 6 months, but would definitely appreciate input.

    My First Suppressor

Looking for Recs on my first suppressor. I don't shoot alot; we mostly sight in and hunt. Looking for a multi-caliber I can use on a couple different rifles depending on scenarios. From my previous research my assumption is a standard .30cal will cover all my rifles. Budget is $1,000...

Vortex Viper HD 10x42 - cabela's black friday edition

Just pulled the trigger on a pair myself. $299 minus the 15%. Plus had $107 in Bass Pro Credit Card cash available. So I'm only $170 in overall. Currently have a pair of 12x50 Diamond Backs I use mostly. Then my boys run a 10x42 Crossfire and my 8x32 DBs. Will be interested to seeing the...

    Long drive ebook suggestions

Anything Louis L'Amour. They are mostly westerns, but they get you hooked quick. Sackett series will get ya close to 100 hours with all the books following a family saga across several generations of American discovery and dvelopment from the pilgrims in to the early 1900s. As far as longer...

    General elk draw

Basically what I did. Bought a PP in 2023. Then applied in 2024 buying a PP during the application process. Drew a General Big Game combo with the 2PP. 2 weeks away form our trip. Taking my 14yo up Nov 10-16. Hoping to do the same thing again with a gameplan for 2026. EDIT: To those...

    Solo pack outs?

Good info in here. I've mostly hunted solo, but usually have people I know in the area. This year I'll be all solo. I'm prepared (mentally and gear-wise) for the solo breakdown and pack out. Physically I'll never be prepared enough, but I can guarantee I'll endure and get it done regardless...

Do I need more clothing items? Sept CO Elk hunt

Raingear is a frustrating need. Don't want to drop $200ea on a set that I might not use at all or maybe for just a few hours. But having it is necessary. I had used a pair of Cabela's space rain pants, but they are excessively loud when walking. I found a solid olive drab color on clearance...

What caliber would you start a hunter with?

6.5CM I have a youth model and my kids love to shoot it. Then when they all grow up, my daughter should be able to still use it as her full time rifle. Speaking Whitetail woods. I'd take a different approach at Elk most likely a .308.

    Glassing CO Archery Elk

Planning to leave the Spotting Scope and Tripod at truck camp. My "Plan A" camp location is setup in an area where i can walk 100 yards one direction and see a mountain side / multiple ridge lines, and walk 100 yards the other direction and look at a different mountain side/ridges. I don't...

Help with possible first western hunt

@Undrgrndprdcts It's very daunting. Figuring out the system is overwhelming. The mountains are HUGE way bigger than they look on a map, you can't fathom it until you are standing on one and wondering what the hell you were thinking. My advice: Buy an OTC 2nd Rifle tag in CO this year. GO DO...

    CO Mosquitos

Luckily I haven't ran in to that situation yet. If i find myself fighting a nest of Yellowjackets, I'm probably not making it out of the woods. I'd at least find out if a pair of epipens can buy me enough time to get to a hospital. Otherwise, i'll just be sending coordinates to my family of...

Hunting Truck Mid vs Full Size

Yea, my dad has the baby-diesel in his '21 AT4. I just can't stand the fact that it sounds like a puppy panting for 3-4 minutes after he shuts it off. LOL My next truck will be a 2500 AT4 Diesel anyway. Starting to tow more often both at work and in out west.

Hunting Truck Mid vs Full Size

Full size vote for me. I've never owned a Mid-size. I've traditionally flipped between 1/2 tons and 3/4 tons. Love my 2022 1/2 ton AT4X. It handle some trails in CO last year, that should be reserved for a Jeep or SxS. The 6.2L gets terrible mileage pulling my trailer with a SxS and ATV...

I'm looking for some amazing over-landing/car camping spots in Colorado (or southern Wyoming) to take my senior dog on one last final epic adventure.

I don't have any destinations to share. But awesome bro! Hope it's an epic trip wherever you end up!!

Let's help some guys/gals get their first archery elk!

I definitely qualify. I'd welcome any feedback. I successfully killed a Bull in an OIL Draw in the Wichita Mountains in 2017. But the success rates there are ridiculous, and it took very little true hunting experience to accomplish. So we can toss that out. I've coached Little League...

    Portable Camp Stoves at Lowes

Here I am getting in trouble from my wife for all the stuff I've been buying for my camping trip with my boys next weekend, and then y'all spring this on me! 18" was in stock this morning, ordered it and remembered I had a $25 GC for Lowes I kept forgetting to use. So only on the hook for $7...
