Moved from MR to a Stone Glacier (X-Curve fit me best) after trying Kifaru and Exo. The SG just worked best for me. The MR could get the job done but the SG is much better for me.
I like mine, never have been a fan of setting up a tent by the truck so I slept in the bed (with a topper. However when hunting a have more gear than camping so I had to take it out to sleep. Now I just climb in the tent and leave everything in the bed. I find it better in wind than a ground...
Thanks for all the info everyone. I did a lot of testing and ended up going with Stone Glacier. It was simply a better fit for me. It was mainly the way the pad hit on my lower back between the two. The ability to control the angle of the shoulder straps also helped. I really liked the layout...
I just changed packs this season. I tried both kifaru and stone glacier. I chose SG for the exact issue as OP. You can adjust that pad independently of the hip belt. Also I could “tilt” the shoulder straps to fit me better.
I use the dead down wind detergent because it is good at getting blood out in my experience and I know it does not have scent, optical brighteners or other things that mess with the clothes. I learned that all free and clear builds up on your clothes because my daughter uses clothes diapers on...
I have been using a MR Sawtooth and Beartooth setup for a while. I am looking for a change. I use the sawtooth more often but need more room now and then so I have one frame 2 bags. From looking at their site it seems a MANIML and a Bedlam with an ARK frame would give me a similar setup. Am I...
Used onX for years and still have it. Been using GOHUNT a couple and have moved to it most all the time. I still like to have a second source to look at some things so will probably keep onX for that.
I have had some offline maps issues with both in the past. They have both been solid for a...
Thanks I will play with it some more. I should have gone smaller. I don’t have much room left to shorten the pack. The arm circulation is my main issue.
MR sawtooth/beartooth with Guide Light MT Frame. With weight (30lbs up) it is good on the hips but the shoulder straps are either in my armpits too much or I have to tighten the sternum strap so tight it is not comfortable. I have tried messing with the tension on the straps and the torso length...
We have a few with 130 ish and no issues. We don’t always have trailers attached but like I said above we do quite a bit. Also they are loaded with hundreds of pounds of rack system, tool boxes and tools all the time. Other than it sounding weird and seeming strange to have that small motor in...
We have several 1500s in our fleet. They have been good motors. We routinely pull trailers ranging from 1k-3500LBs and they have no issues with the 3500LB hauls. I have driven them quite a few times and they have plenty of pep for daily driving. They kinda act like a little diesel in that they...
