I too use their custom honed necks on a couple of my dies and I can say it’s fantastic and a great value.
I am not sure if I posted about this before but not all sizing dies are the same size on the inside. For example, Redding full length and bushing dies in some calibers are bigger (less...
It seems to shoot very well without any bedding. So far, I’m pretty happy with this set up after one Range session this morning. This target is 25 shots.
Oh! Yeah I made up three pieces. I also wanted to increase the palm swell. That plumbers stuff comes in a long roll that’s about 3/4” in diameter. Each piece I cut off the roll was about 1”.
Unfortunately I tried that spray on truck bed liner and did not love it. I whish I had not done that as I put a couple of heavy coats. That marine Tex is just one thin layer. I used the popsicle stick to raise it to peaks after I spread it on, then waited an hour or so and used a wet nitrile...
I forgot to add, this setup saves about 7oz of weight over the HNT26 because of the magazine. I only got this stock because those giant single stack single feed long action mags you need with a tikka on the HNT26 are so heavy to carry and bulky.
I’ve been working on my stock by adding epoxy putty to increase grip/reduce length to trigger. I’m at 1.75ish depending on where you measure. I used this putty that ACE hardware sells. It’s fantastic. But you have to work fast as it’s hard as a rock in about 3-4 minutes. However you can...
From back ordered to shipped in 16 hours! I did order a plain unfinished one. I plan to paint it myself. Point is… don’t be afraid of the back order button.
Collet dies don’t bump the shoulder at all. You are most likely crushing the case slightly and pushing the brass back. I use those dies along with Redding body dies to good effect. Setting up that die is different than regular dies and you should avoid the cam over feeling. There are some...
What dies are you using just out of curiosity? And, I have seen bushing dies cause some weird issues. Forester are my favorite. And, I have started only getting the FL dies from them that they will custom hone to my dimensions per the Forester instructions on their website.
I may be misunderstanding you but are you tying to see if your sizing your brass enough by using a case gauge and not the chamber that it was fired out of?
Most of the time when you have cartridges not fit after sizing it’s not the shoulder that is too far forward; rather it’s the base of the case at what is known as the .200 line. Basically the ass is too fat. You may need a small base sizing die, or a die that has a smaller base. Not all...
