I shot a 8 pt couple weeks ago with the 175 gr tipped fusion 7 prc..bullet diameter in and about a quarter out, deer dropped worked fine...I was expecting a bigger exit tho.
I think I'm gonna have to get more 7mm prc tipped fusion ..just got back from range and fired 2 more 3 shot groups at 100 yards..my gun loves it its 1 ragged hole everytime pics attached
In all honesty I'm not a fan of the xbolt 2..I love my original a bolts and xbolts/xbolt pro..I feel like all these company's are trying to stay hip and play the tactical trend all these "extras " they claim on the xbolt 2 means nothing to me..the only difference that might be better would be...
Even so there is NO PLAST
Lots of people do that ...but again there is NO plastic
in a xbolt trigger assembly...the t bolt and ab3 do ...the xbolt doesn't.
Well if you had a hells canyon than you had a metal trigger there's no plastic...also if up upgraded to the timey you lost the bolt unlock feature..call it what you want but the xbolts trigger is not plastic..even tho it looks it because it's real thin it's 100 percent metal.
🤣🤣 atleast if your gonna bash and talk sht about it know the facts ...browning xbolts all have metal triggers...there is not a plastic trigger on any xbolt...that would be the cheap ab3.
I know this is a old post but I thought I'd weigh in as I have flew with 2 rifles in this vault 800 more times than I can count ..at least 3-4 times a year...that case is absolutely beat to hell ..no lie it has a tire mark ground into the back of it like the baggers were running it over or...
I love the fusion I run the soft point fusion in my 270.. but for 7 prc the fusion loses almost 300 ft lb of energy past 300 yrds compared to the fed premium eld x...for strictly deer you would be hard pressed to find a better deer bullet than the fusion ...but for long distance shots in the...
I agree...my personal favorite bullet if I could get my hands on is the terminal ascent..can't find right now ..but in all honesty I'd be lien if I didn't give the eld x props...I have shot over 17 animals and I have yet to this day recovered a bullet and knock on wood I have never lost 1...I...
I would highly recommend you try a box of federal premium eld x you will get alot better performance with a tougher bullet...I've shot hundreds of pigs with the eld m and I elk hunt quite frequently and have seen the downfall of using the eldm..it's fine on deer but elk I would never trust it...
No unfortunately not the cheap caldwell chrono worked for about 3 federal premium eld x with high numbers 2996 being the fastest ES was minimal don't have number on top but due to chrono we were unable to test the fusion..but It stacks em in there...for anyone wondering I shoot a browning xbolt...
3 shots 7 prc 175 gr fusion tipped at 100 yards...pretty impressive...I have to say federal has always been quality ammo whether it's there cheap power shok or there premium line.
First picture is Federal premium eld 7 prc 175 gr....the other 1 ragged hole is Federal new fusion tipped 175 gr ...my rifle is a browning xbolt pro carbon fiber in 7 prc for anyone wondering great stuff for factory ammo.
I have shot both ...I prefer federal premium for a couple reasons..the main reason is because hornady shit the pot with the precision hunter lieing about the box velocity..I've chrono both and I was lucky to reach 2850 with hornady..so I called and they said yeah before the Ukraine war they were...
I shoot just plain Jane federal powershoks...shoots 3/4 to 1 in out of my 80s rem 700 bdl 270...ain't ever lost 1 most drop ...but hell that's a 270 win for ya😏😎
