I had the same problem with my Seekins Havak. I installed the Beartooth Comb Raising Kit off of Amazon. It was a bitch to install and it looks ugly. But it fixed the problem and I shoot the gun much better now. Good luck!
I'd second the Fejes Guide Service recommendation. He runs a top shelf outfit. I've been there twice for goat hunts. He has great goat hunting. Big Billie's (especially body, but horns as well). But he shoot some great moose as well. A friend of mine did a combo moose/goat hunt and was...
Wow sweet! That's great velocity with those eol bullets. I just found a box of them last week and haven't reloaded any yet. I'll have to try that. Do you have the Seekins Element (that has the short barrel)?
I just got an element in a 6.5 PRC and I concur. The light rifle (and stiffer buttpad) results in significantly higher felt recoil than other 6.5's I've got in more conventional "lightweight" guns (Browning x-bolt & Fierce Edge). The gun shoots great though, 10 shot groups in 3/4 MOA with...
Agreed. The excess material out the side of the Ollin phone case won't let the case slide into the top of my Alaska Guide Creations bino harness, which is where I carry my phone. Magview it is!
I have two of the VX5 3-15 and two of the VX6 3-18. You are right, I do like the extra power for shooting long range targets, that's what I use the VX6's for. In a hunting situation you'll probably never be cranked up that high anyway (or shouldn't be to have a reasonable field of view for...
I've got a couple of VX5's and VX6's. The turrets are a little "mushy", but I have never had a zeroing issue. For its price I think the VX5 has some of the best clarity of anything, including the comparably priced Swaro's and Zeiss. They also have the best scope caps out there.
I muzzleload hunted 39 last year for deer. I had a herd bull 300" 6x6 100 yards away with a couple raghorns and spikes in the group. Also saw another group of elk with a couple of raghorns in range and I saw a 250" 5x5 with 3-4 cows 1/2 mile away. So there are elk in the unit. But I covered...
I have had two xbolt pro's in 6.5 PRC. Neither shot well, though they shot everything ok (~1.5 MOA). Tried numerous premium factory loads (Precision Hunter, Hornady Match, Nosler Trophy, Hornady Outfitter w/ CX)
I have installed the M Carbo spring in two different x bolts. One had very good results and got the trigger around 2.5 lbs. The other didn't seem to do as much, got to just over 3 lbs.
