    Another vote for Caribou. Have two sizes, the larger working well for bone in elk. The smaller is what I use mostly for boned out elk, deer, lion, etc.

    I picked one up and was planning on a similar usage. 99% of the time just glassing, but put the mini Salmon River arca rail on my gun so I could use it shooting. Planning on going to the range today to try it for the first time. Will post again once I'm back.

    That's a fair point, I haven't tried the 110g or 130g in the barnes ttsx. Barnes shows the 130g as having 1933/1583 ftlbs at 300/400. That's getting awful close to the 1500ftlbs mark I was taught for elk, which is why I didn't buy a box to test.
