No reason 12 won't work. You may be spinning bullet faster than it needs to be spun for stability, but no chance of bullet breakup. Worst thing that could happen is that you start to see pressure slightly sooner on load workup by over spinning. But doubt you will ever notice.
I have taken moose and mule deer at 700 yds with 127 lrx with good expansion. 26 nosler. (only recovered bullet from moose under offside hide). Have also taken mule deer at 350 range with 129 lrx. The barnes ttsx requires more velocity to expand than the lrx. You should have no issue with...
That's pretty good for a lightweight rifle. Right now you are good to 400yd. More practice and you can probably get to 600 for hunting. I've had hard time shooting ultralight rifles. I carry my savage lightweight hunter in the woods. When out west 26 nosler in a 10# rifle. I know that in...
If you have a buddy local to you that handloads probably your best bet. I've developed and loaded rounds for a couple of friends, including mounting scopes etc.
I found some a few weeks ago. $80/box. They are out there. Maybe I'm just dreaming of finding them at 40 per box. I hadn't seen 200 gr ttsx in 3 years and now you can get them from multiple vendors. Hoping partitions get manufactured in bulk soon!
I have a savage barrel nut 35 whelen and it's shoots great. Easy 400yd rifle for deer/elk. 500 yds if up at higher altitude. Quality of bore and chamber is most important thing.
Pretty sure it's 24". With h4895 I get 2450-2500 with 250gr bullets. With cfe 223 bumps velocity up quite a bit. Now if I could only find some cheap 250 gr partitions...
Know of any good areas in PA to canoe in and hunt? I got 2 does with my recurve last yr on public land. Love doing it. Any rough spots on eastern half of state? Camping would be great, but not required
I just make a new range card for each specific load and tape to the stock. Range, dial, shoot. Main thing you have to worry about is that the card is only good at one elevation. More than +/- 2000ft from your elevation on the card and you start missing
