I use the Eped 8R and it works great. this march had my tent setup testing a new 0 degree C bag lower limit. temps dropped to -22 and the only part of me that was warm was what was resting on the pad. Had to wake up and start the fire, sleep was over lol. Bag was good till about -10 and...

after I got the fire going I went outside to see what they were taking pictures of. Nice clear night and not bad aurora either considering the time of year.

    Tentipi Safirflex 15 Tent Review

I purchased a Safir 9 last year and have used it mostly for ice fishing so far. I heat it with a Winnerwell Nomad large stove. I do need to bring extra pipe to get out the top of the tent, and like you mentioned with the 2 dog stove the pipes don’t fit in the stove. Because I use the internal...

    Chipotle bacon sausage

Yes, it's also pretty darn good over the open fire pit in the backyard. Works in chili, cut into chunks after cooking and add. Works as burger patties if you remove the casing or just bag it when making it. Sausage, eggs, and beans in the morning. Pretty versatile and delicious. 😋

    Chipotle bacon sausage

Usually it's just an extra old Cheddar. If the temperature is right I find the cheese gets soft and melted but it won't leak out of the casings. I usually smoke them for 3-5 hours at 160, then finish them off at 225 until an internal temp of 140f. This way my casings shrink up a bit but don't...

How do you justify sheep hunting?

One of, if not the only benefit to living in the NWT is the hunting, I can purchase a Dall tag over the counter each year along with moose and caribou. Filling the freezer comes first so priority on the moose, but I am working on the fitness level so I am able to fill the tag this fall...

    Canol trail NWT

Our grizzly bears are smaller than in Alaska, but much more aggressive. The fence gives me piece of mind stepping out in the morning. The guys I hunt with have had meat taken before, I have not experienced that but expect to see it each time I come back to camp after the days hunting. Make...

    Canol trail NWT

Good day people. I just signed up a while ago and need some posts to be able to access the classifieds. Figured a moose and caribou hunt with some pictures could take care of some of that. I was raised in the NWT since I was 9 years old. Grew up eating lots of barren ground caribou, and...

Need to up my posts before I am allowed to shop so here we go. I have only had the opportunity to use this tent a handful of times so far. So far it's onky use has been ice fishing, but it was purchased for hunting in the mountians, Argo and truck camping, not backpacking this into...

    Best moose saw option /packable??

I don't backpack hunt, with that in mind I purchased a chainsaw 12 years ago for cutting them up. Upgraded to a Milwaukee 12v arborist saw 2 years ago. Fill the reservoir with Veggie oil and good to go. Their teeth will dull a chain in a heartbeat 😌
