Great to hear, thanks. The Kutana was on my radar, sounds like I need to give it a try. You feel like the torso is cut long enough to cover your insulation layer? My down jacket is a longer cut, so that's proved to be an issue when it gets rainy.
Yeah the OR Archangel I have is definitely an alpine cut - long in the arms and torso for reaching up climbing. Works for my body, I just wish the fabric wasn't so loud. I don't have any other experience with GoreTex Pro though.
I actually have that Mountain Hardware jacket. It's great! It's my...
Appreciate it! I've never tried Arc'teryx stuff yet, but everyone speaks super highly of it. I have a bit of newer Kuiu stuff and it is great. Tried the Super Down LT and it was a little baggy on me, but their pants and other shirts have been A+. Might need to keep trying.
After ordering my sixth rain jacket / hard shell (not precisely the same, I know, but minus my snowboarding gear I have them do double duty) I'm about at the end of my patience, and could use some input since I've got analysis paralysis at this point.
Currently have a basic Patagonia rain...
Well heck. I guess I'll slow my roll then. Am I right that keeping up with longer distances/heavier weights in other footwear is ok, in terms of not being counterproductive with building my feet up? Thanks for the advice.
Alright question for you guys using these for longer weight bearing activity. Granted I'm a newer to full-on barefoot shoes (but have been wearing Altra Lone Peaks and Lems for a couple years) - but now that I'm starting to add 30-50 pounds to hikes with my Trackers and Primus, I'm getting some...
That general consensus that you'll cripple yourself without stiff boots is why I even bought a pair of Crispis, haha. I like them of course and they have their niche, especially as I'm still working my feet up to full on minimalist footwear in the mountains. But still. I think people are coming...
I feel like I might understand. Maybe that you're not sliding around because you're stepping and planting differently, rather than just bashing down the hill expecting your boots to keep you locked in?
At the moment what's throwing me off a bit is just how differently the Tracker ESC fit over...
Appreciate the input! Likewise to you, @AlbertaFisher . How loose are you talking? I think the bigger pair on me, it's really during downhill descents, my foot definitely slides forward, with a good thumb width or more behind my heel. It's not uncomfortable, just feels different. And I've not...
I have the Crispi Kenai's in Wide, and the toe box feels good to me. I still wish the last was more anatomically foot-shaped, but oh well.
Basically all my other footwear is minimalist/zero-drop/etc., so the Crispis feel like walking around with cinder blocks on my feet, but beyond that they...
Question for you guys who've been wearing these for a while, or anyone who is between sizes. I'm right between an 11 and 12 US (44 or 45 EU) and have the Vivo Primus Trail Knits in 12. They feel good. I got my Tracker ESC in, in both 11 and 12. Spent a handful of miles in the size 12, and they...
Probably depends just how wide your feet are. I think Vivos are on the narrower spectrum of the barefoot world. But still much wider than normal shoes. My forefoot is about 4.5" across at the widest point, and my Vivos feel wide enough. If my feet were a lot wider, they may not. But a lot of...
Bought these boots, wore them out of the house twice, and realized they're not for me (broke my foot a while back, and some footwear just doesn't work out anymore.) That said, I can see why everyone raves about them, and I do love my other Lems shoes. Waterproof, grippy, and sturdy enough for...
Finished all 21 pages of this, and now I have a couple pairs of Tracker ESC on the way, haha. I've been using Primus Trail Knits as my gym shoes for a while, and had a pair of Magna Trails (loved them, but the sole came unglued in a spot, so figured I'd upgrade.) I snagged the Tracker ESC on...
