Glad you got it figured out. Though I am partial to Tikka, I definitely wouldn’t be disappointed about picking up a ph2. I been thinking about picking one up as well. Its an awesome looking rifle

    Decent Budget Slider?

It’s also worth checking out CBE. I see their sites on camofire pretty regularly and have heard good things. No personal experience with them though. Don’t forget about the Classifieds either. Tons of good deals in there.

    Decent Budget Slider?

Hard to beat a Montana Black Gold or the HHA Tetra 4 Pin when they go on sale. Got the HHA for 210 from Go Hunt a while ago. Been happy with both. No micro adjust on individual pins for the HHA though which sucks.

Does anyone know the actual torque spec for this bolt or is 55 in pounds good as suggested above? Just checked mine and it was a little loose as well. Never had a slam fire though.

DIY Tikka Barrel Swap, By Dioni Amuchastegui

Thanks again for everyone’s help. Managed to get it with a 36 inch pipe wrench and a 4 foot breaker bar over the wheeler action wrench. Here are the battle scars and the finished product. Will be put in a Rokstok hopefully soon.

Finally got it. Took a 4 foot breaker bar to tighten down the vise evenly. The barrel still spun. It was wrapped with brown sugar and a toilet paper roll. So I busted out a 36 inch pipe wrench and had my buddy @Bc45 pull the pipe wrench while I had the wheeler number 1 with a 4 foot breaker bar...

I’ll give it another shot after work today. Right now I’m using a 1/2 ratchet as tight as I can get it. I’m also using a 45 oz rubber mallet for shock force

DIY Tikka Barrel Swap, By Dioni Amuchastegui

Any one have problems with the barrel spinning in the viper vise? I tried drywall tape, toilet paper tube, and brown sugar. Been doing a star pattern to get even clamp force too. Threads have been soaking in liquid wrench for a couple days and will continue to do so until I can figure out how to...

Tikka Barrel Removal and Install Tool Swap Thread

Well I lost round 1. Couldn’t get adequate leverage without the barreled action spinning. Will continue soaking in liquid wrench in the meantime.
