Older thread, but curious how people feel about 7mm prc vs 300prc for 500-800yard shots specifically on elk. As @TauPhi111 said, 99% of shots will be inside 500 yards, but I’m thinking about a long term elk gun I can use for decades to come and want to have confidence as distances stretch. So...
Ah that makes sense, hadn’t caught the chassis stock mention. I’m trying to decide between the BAT igniter, vampire, and vesper for a similar build (7prc). On paper I see the feature difference but wondering how noticeable they are in practice.
Curious if you went with the medium or LA Vesper. Not crazy amount of weight savings (2oz I think) with a less common action size on the medium, but curious which route you took!
Hello Rok Slide crew - figured it was time to introduce myself after lurking and learning here for awhile. Good timing for me to get more involved as I'm 'taking the plunge' and starting to plan out my first bolt gun build. I've built gas guns & pistols in the past, but not a bolt action rifle...
Really awesome read beginning to (almost) end! Beautiful craftsmanship, looking forward to seeing the final product!

Similar question for NX8 on LA split rail actions (Bat Vampire/antiX etc) - has anyone had issues adjusting eye relief for this short bodied scope?

Older thread, similar issue I’m concerned with. Looking to pickup a NX8 4-32, and eventually mount on a split rail like the Bat vampire/antiX. Curious if there’s any more experience with this group on ability to adjust eye relief for these split rails. Thanks for any info

Sounds like you’re in for a fun weekend! Happy shooting. Hope to hear more after your hog hunt if you’re willing to share initial reactions. I’m between this or going a build route (though the latter I’m new to for precision builds, this forum has been a wealth of information on both routes)
OP - assuming you already picked up the Element, any first impressions? Thinking about the same rifle in the 7 PRC, not many hands on reviews yet so super curious on how it is!
