I was looking for the same essential features a month or so ago. I ended up going with the Benro Slim Travel CF tripod. 2.2lbs only has 3 adjustments on the legs so it takes less time to set up than all the models with 4. Head is fine but could be upgraded cheaply if you wanted to. I haven’t...
I’ve got the S1. I like it well enough but it’s kind of a hassle getting the phone camera to line up perfectly with the scope. If I were buying again I’d go a different route.

I bought the Leupold vx-3hd in 4-14x50 and ended up selling it after I bought a couple of Trijicon scopes from ScopeList (euro optic sister site). The Trijicon were just way nicer and the glass gathered light better. I bought the 4-16x50 credo as well as the 2.5-10x56 AccuPoint. Both are...
So far, so good. I've only tried it around the neighborhood, so nothing long distance. I haven't taken it out in the evening yet to see the low light quality. Afraid I can't give much input until after my bear hunt in May.
Quick update. I got the Magview S1 in today, and its a little tricky getting it to mount flush with the eyepiece so that the picture stays in focus. I found that it's easier to tap the screen so the phone focuses instead of using the focus ring.
Check out Scopelist (sister site). Some of the prices were lower when I purchased my scopes there last month. If you look at the details, the scopes on sale are not the exact same models currently listed on the Trijicon website. For instance the Credo 4-16x50 scope has the same specs and the...
How are goats a dime a dozen compared to rams? That’s certainly not the case when you compare harvest rates. Even more so when you consider the fact that there are multiple sheep species. If you combine all of those species they make mountain numbers look tiny.

‘19 Ram 1500 - mostly use it around town but with the off road package it’s got every option I could want for my hunts so I’ve got little worry about ever getting stuck out in the woods or the desert.

I’ve got the Firestone’s you mentioned on my Ram 1500. I’ve got about 15,000 miles on the set and just had one replaced after a bolt puncture. The older tires have almost the same amount of tread as the brand new one. They’re excellent off road as well. Plenty of dirt, sand, and mud and I’ve...
My favorites to watch are Brian Call and Ryan Lampers, and Justin Gibbins from Limitless Outdoors. These guys put together legitimate hunting videos and show all the real aspects of a hunt whether good or bad. I’d be happy to hunt with any of them.

Thanks for all the responses! Sounds like I’ll go with a traditional zippered tent since I don’t have a nest for my tipi.

I'm going on a Spring bear hunt in Idaho in May and planning ahead for a heavy dose of ticks. I'll take measures with sprays and such, but I'm wondering about my tent. I was planning on using a ultralight two man floorless tipi, but I've been considering using a more traditional lightweight...
Also, a sort of nice surprise came with the Athlon spotter. It ended up coming with a neoprene sleeve. I say sort of because the fit is garbage. If you extend it enough to take out the slack then you can’t access the lens cover or you’re covering up the diopter. Either way, part of the focus...
Just to confirm, I measured the eyepiece of the Ares and it comes out to 2.08" so it should work just fine. I'm going to place an order for the S1 too.
I’ll put a caliper on the eyecup as soon as it comes in. S1 fits anything between 2-2.36” so I bet there’s a good chance it’ll fit. I was looking at the Ollin but they don’t make a model that’s a direct fit for the ares and I don’t want to play the guessing game. I’m glad you brought this up...
