I shot a elk last season with a 147 eldm out of a 6.5 prc. Two of the rounds were in the shoulder and they only penetrated through one shoulder with only a few fragments of the jacket making it into the off side shoulder.
I shared this information in another thread and was called a liar by all...
I've shot multiple animals with the 140 eldm 143 eldx and 147 eldm. I've also shot multiple animals with the 30 cal 208 eldm 215 berger and 225 eldm. The larger 30 cal does way more damage. Also I have found that I have a higher percentage of animals that die instantly when shot with larger...
The 127 barnes animals would run along way and had poor long range accuracy. The 140 vld flew great and perform at short range but I had them pencil through a antelope at 580 yards. I had inconsistant accuracy with the 129 lrab so I never hunted with it. The 140 nosler bt performed good and...
I dropped down to 6.5 creedmoor about 10 years ago and tried out a pile of bullets on deer. I found out quick that some bullets do not perform well. Some work ok and some work good. After about 20 deer and antelope got killed with the creedmoor I went back to larger caliber rifles. I've found...
You can find and harvest sheep without floating the river. I'd still have a raft to cross the river if a good ram was on the other side. The float down through macks canyon is a great trip if you do decide to float the river. Call the biologist before you decide to float the river. There is also...
There are two types of escrow. One handles the Ernest money and tittle transfer of the sale.
The other is the holding on the money for your taxes and insurance that is required for most home loans.
What is wrong with going through escrow?
You have to pay PMI for the life of a FHA loan. But you can have a worse debt to income ratio and qualify for a FHA loan.
A lot of conventional loans you can put 5-10% down but you will have to have a lower debt to income ratio. The plus side of a conventional is that once you have 20% equity...
Both shots broadside hit the shoulder and fragmented stopping under the shoulder with only a few fragments going into the rib cage. I had no signs of the bullets traveling through into the other shoulder.
As for ft-lbs I want enough to put shit down. There are to many variables to know how many...
Just because you did something doesn't mean it was smart. You need energy to get through bone and flesh 1124lb of energy is pretty low for a elk. I've shot a antelope at too far of range for the velocity and bullet I was using. I killed the antelope but that doesn't mean I did the right thing.
The shots had different placement on the deer vs the elk. The bullets that hit the shoulder did not travel through and take out the other shoulder. The one shot in the rear of the chest cavity traveled all the way through the chest. No wound shots.
