Thank you to all who have served. Thank you for all you've done and the sacrifices you have made. It can be a somber day for some, but please try to appreciate being alive and free for all those that can't.
I lost nearly 100fps in a different lot of factory 108eldm. No change in 100 yard zero or precision. If I wasn't chronographing them, I'd have no idea.
Between that and my 7prc, it's enough to make me throw my hands up and say, "Fine, I'll fricken handload if you're going to be like that."
I got a quote from one of the cheap options on wikiarms.com for $708 for a stainless 8tw 22-250. Personally, I'd go stainless if it's close. Might get more for the barrel takeoff.
I'm new to this, so I've never actually seen it and this might be a dumb question, but what about bullets coming apart in flight? Does anything make it to the target? Does it always happen at the muzzle or could it happen right before impact in some anomalous case?
Which Bergers? I'm new to them and loading some vld hunters. Are Berger bullets all similar enough to just lump together and say "bergers" or is that like saying "sierras" or "hornady's"?
Which I think was on 308? I would guess the difference is more pronounced as you go up in cartridge class. My STi and my nomad LT are pretty similar on 223/6/6.5. When I swap them on 7prc, the difference is significant to say the least. I'd guess the nomad xc pulls away prc/magnum and above even...
I bought some early production hornady 7mm prc that would give me a stiff bolt lift intermittently. They have since switched powders and it's a non issue, so my experience is the reverse of yours.
I've always wondered if maybe the barrel can get hot without shifting impacts but can the fore end of the stock get hot and flex more, maybe affect poi that way if its not free floated enough? Obviously some stocks would be more susceptible than others.
Yeah, this is a bummer. My STi is my favorite can. I feel bad for talking DD up as much as I have over the last couple years. I thought they were the best value out there. Seems like maybe they had some upscaling issues.
I've only had my can loosen a few times but when it has, it's made an immediately apparent difference in impacts. 3/4 turn is plenty loose to mess up your accuracy. I try to check mine after every group, but I definitely check it after the first bullet impact that doesn't make sense.
Pewscience.com has the hux flow 7.62 ti right below the diligent defense enticer sti, which some claim to be quieter than the scythe, on a 308 bolt gun. So the flow should be in that loudness neighborhood.
I have a hux flow through hx-qd 7.62. When shot on 308 ar, there's still some gas in the...
I think some of it is a little trolling, the suppressor crowd can get a little preachy and condescending, myself included. It's understandable to poke back.
Some of it is pride/ego defense, justifying the choice to be anti-suppressor. I think it's gotten easier to get a suppressor so its...
