I basically have Flintstone feet. Lowa felt like European torture devices from the jump. After trying Lowa Tibet, Hanwag Ancash, Kenetrek MEs, Schnees beartooth, and Meindl cofort fit extreme and vakuum hunters. The Hanwags and Kenetrek fit my funky wide foot the best. The Hanwags have broken in...
I bought my ancash in spring of 2022. Felt great when I first bought them. I have a fairly wide foot with an odd heel. Started to feel more and more uncomfortable in the beginning of the break in. I almost gave up on them. After about 6-8 months of really working on them and trying different...
Hi all. I just found this thread. I am also planning on hunting breaks for mule deer, but I am planning on floating down in our cargo canoe, or I might motor up and float down I havnt quite decided that yet. Can anyone speak to what I might expect on the upper Missouri. Is it usually fairly...
I am leaning towards a spotter with a few hunts I have planned. I dont think my 10x will be enough to tell me the hike will be worth it if you catch my drift.
It would awesome to hear the elk while chasing bears. I have kidding myself that I would want to pack an elk out solo, but a bears seems more managable.
I kind of assumed something like that. I just hoping to put several quality tags in pocket. Maybe back to drawing board. I will have to investigate more.

Thanks for the info. I think my plan is to hike drainages and the like looking for those food sources during the summer. I would also like to drop a few waypoints on some glassing points. I think I am more looking to try and combine a bear tag with an early rifle deer. have the points for the...
I am brand new to the forum and just saw your post. I did the LBL draw deer hunt this past October. No deer but it was beautiful country to explorer. I have driven over it hundreds of times and never got the chance to really get deep in the country.
I just connected the dots on participating the rokslide forum. I am in the middle of 20 year plan on western and backpack hunts. Looking forward to seeing what other outdoorsman and women have to say.
I am also interested in doing the fall bear hunt. Maybe a stupid question. Just a quick one about preseason scouting. If I am able to scout over the summer, family vacation, I would be looking for feed and likely terrain? I assume your'e looking for beary areas as opposed to individual bears...
