I talk to my parents often, who live in Georgetown, and they remind me how hot and dry its been. Keeps me from complaining when we get to 90 and go 2 weeks without rain! but i feel really guilty when they are at 100+ and our high temp is 75 and sunny!
I'd highly recommend one with side opening windows so you can reach in. And ibuse and old hoe handle with the hoe blade broken off to carry in the bed and hook, drag and push things so I don't have to climb everything something slides to the front.
where are you in Michigan? I'm in Hamilton, just south of Holland on the west side. I've got my first elk hunt this fall as well. this thread is great help in getting ready.
good luck!
this is how i've done mine as well. Get internal temp to 160 degrees over the course of several hours and then into a water bath to stop cooking process, then eat!
I've been on three spot and stalk archery hunts in New York . Every time I'm amazed at how much movement i can get away with as long as I'm downwind. Don't be scared to be aggressive in going after them.
Thanks for the welcome!
I've never drawn a michigan bear tag. I've hunted them in new york over the years.
Had a buddy draw a northern lower bear tag this year after like 14 years of getting points, but didn't connect.
Never been after them with hounds, sounds like a blast, good luck!
Hello to the forum. New guy here from southwest Michigan. Hunt deer, bear, and caribou once. Love the forum so far as a lurker, hope to be able to offer some back to others as well.
Thanks!
