Not in a Tikka, but I didn't get the best velocities with N565 62 grains (about 2750 fps) . I also found the barrel was crazy hot after a few rounds. I much prefer N160 / N165 . Usually max out around 62 grains, great consistency! The only downside to Viht powders in 7mm mag is you never...
I personally like the vihtavuori powders now more than ever. N160/N165 in that burn rate range. The price hasn't gone up nearly as much as Hodgdon lines. The Vihtavuori powders always give some of my lowest ES and SD.
H4350 is supposed to be more temp stable. IMR might give slightly different results, but when I've seen it on the shelf I pass because of the $74 / LB price.
Federal fusion is good ammo. I personally have shot lighter weight bullets the last 10 years. There is a noticeable jump in recoil from a 150-160 grain up to 175 grain. I have killed elk with 140 accubonds or I now shoot 140 grain copper. Federal makes a 150 grain fusion, your gun might...
If muzzeloader hunting, practice, practice, practice. Most think muzzy you just pick it up and extend your killing range. Borrowing the muzzy is fine if you practice a few months and are proficient with the weapon.
162 eldx will be plenty. I've shot elk with 140/160 accubonds, 140 barnes ttsx, federal fusion, remington corelokts and many others. Personally I like copper bullets as it doesn't bloodshot much meat.
Interested to see your results. Thinking of ditching the 7mag and going that route soon

I went with a stockys m50 fiberglass, had to send the first one back due to something rattling around inside. They made it right, but overall not real happy with their quality. AG composites are superb quality. If you can find a springfield waypoint to handle at a gun shop you can see their...
Tried stalking in close the last day of archery and bumped the herd and bull at 20 yards, got to within 50 with no shot an hour later. Opening day the next year, I had him come by at 40, held my draw forever while he was behind a tree, let it fly and hit a downed tree...
He was slightly bigger...

They don't even know their own regulations!
As someone who lives in Grand Junction, they are terrible. The only people who actually know the laws are the wildlife officers, unfortunately they are spread so thin they don't have time to help people...
