I have no doubt. I mean the only difference is the integral rail, and if I were building a short action, I would totally go that rout. But with the long action, I’m liking the flexibility of a full rail.
Is an Integral Rail That Important?
I’m working with my gunsmith on a custom rifle build. We ordered a Defiance AnTI, and I saw that they discontinued it.
The rifle will be 7mm PRC for Colorado backcountry elk hunting with shots between 200 and 500 yards (I practice out to 1000 at my range)...
Yeah the scratch looks to be cosmetic. It’s perfectly fine to look through.
I’ve also held a few NF scopes, and they’re awesome heavy (not that this big ass 15in scope is a feather).

yep I got this one just for the action and barrel. I bought this gun to basically throw away the stock and put it in a chassis. I, personally, really like fluted barrels, and the only one I could find other than this model with a fluted barrel had a wooden stock, and it felt like a shame to toss...
Going to revive this thread. I just got a D18 from Cabelas and was wondering what was under the coating, too. I called Beretta, and they said it’s stainless. If you look in the bore, you’ll find the “ss” stamp. Hope this helps folks wondering the same question as me.
