I started with 10x42 then moved to 12x50.
The 10x42 are now just a back up or loaner pair and I use the 12x50 all the time.
Carried in a chest pack.
My local terrain is mostly sparse trees and wide open mountains that run into sage desert.
I’m in central/south Idaho and really like 12x50 binos on a tripod. The tripod makes all the difference!
I’m after meat not trophies so I can mostly get away with the 12x50 binos on a tripod and leave the spotter in the truck.
I was not successful but I also didn’t put in a lot of effort due to just being to busy.
I did see a handful of bears, either to small or to far.
Seen the nicest cinnamon bear I’ve have ever seen!
Beautiful coat!
The problem was it was in access yes property that doesn’t allow for predator...
I live in unit 49 and Im in unit 43 often.
Last year spring bear access into 43 was tough.
Deep snow, avalanches, washed out bridges.
Don’t think it will be as bad this year, but we have also gotten a lot of late snow.
We just had one of the biggest storms of the winter last week.
I usually...
That’s my thought.
Hoping the better ergo and stiffer chassis of the Hnt26 will improve accuracy and consistency.
My current savage factory plastic stock is flexy and very hold sensitive.
I bought a MRX western edition with the Williams peep sights 1.5 years ago and I did have a problem with running out of elevation adjustment on the sight.
I called cva and the sent me a replacement rear ramp free of charge which fixed the issue.
I was told when I talked to cva that it was just a...
I’m seriously considering an mdt Hnt26 for my savage 110 ultralite in 7prc.
My biggest concern is maybe it will be to light of a build and spotting shots would be hard.
I guess like Fatback’s mentioned I could add the mdt weights to get the right amount of weight back into the build...
Thanks for the suggestions!
I’m going to try the dryer sheets because that’s easy to get and if that doesn’t work I’ll try some anti static spray or use both if I need to.
Hello,
I’m new to reloading and today attempted to add powder to my first made rounds.
I had a horrible time with static.
So much that it was clogging the nozzle of my powder thrower and giving very inconsistent powder drops.
Powder was just sticking to everything and causing a big mess...
I called BPI/CVA yesterday for a replacement sight ramp and it was fast, easy with no hassle.
They shipped me a replacement free of charge.
The guy mentioned it was the first few batches of rifles that had the problem.
Mine was bought over a year ago.
I’ve had good luck with hornady outfitter and Barnes Lrx factory rounds.
You do need to see which your rifle likes better.
I’ve shot the outfitter and Lrx out of 2 rifles and 1 liked the outfitter and 1 liked the Lrx.
I have a 50 cal mrx and found 320g tc maxxi balls over 100g of pyrodex to be accurate out of my mrx.
Bonus is this combo in my mrx seems to work ok with the factory peep sights which I’ve had trouble with using other bullet powder combos.
Harvested a mature cow at 106 yards and she dropped...
Ive had good success and results with my cva mrx last season.
Shooting 320g tc maxxi balls over 100g by volume of pyrodex.
Toke a big mature cow at 106 yards and got a double lung complete pass thru on her.
I’ll keep using that combo as long as it’s avaliable.
I have a mrx and was also having problems with the peep sight not having enough adjustment.
I was shooting 1ft low at 100 yards with a maxed out rear sight with 295g power belts and 100g pyrodex select.
I tried 320g tc maxxi balls with 100g by volume of pyrodex select and for what ever reason...
