The following stabilizer setup technique changed my archery life...I have three bows, one of which held perfect balance and just felt great overall at draw, the others felt like a never ending quest of trial and error on stabilizers until...
...I found the center of mass for for the one I love...
Of the 100's of things you can think about from accessories to form flaws to mental games, it can be REALLY hard to figure out what's holding you back from the next level of accuracy and precision. At your level of performance (softballs at 40 with misses "callable" before you actually score...
Well, for those that are following, I shot a 3D club shoot that I've shot everything month over the last year with the super long rear stabilizer today. I decided to use a rear stabilizer length that was a long as possible WITHOUT resting it on my body at all (20inches from the riser to the end...
So, it seems everyone here has some pretty informed points!
For one, at the length that works for level shots, it definitely gets in the way of proper form on downhill shots. It's a Crossover that I'm using so I can shorten it pretty easy for those shote, but that gets to be a pain.
That...
Now that it's the off season, I've been experimenting with rear stabilizers on my hunting rig to see if it adds any precision. As I'm experimenting, I'm making the back bar longer and longer incrementally (using a Crossover stabilizer) until all of a sudden I realize the back bar is now resting...
Thanks for sharing this! Those rare infections can be very difficult to diagnose, you were smart in taking the matter into your own research hands since Infectious Disease physicians often don't think about the stuff that we get infected with from wild animals (or farms animals). FYI, I know...
In my own experience, if you NEED more cash, lots of decent advice above. But, if you WANT more cash and have a stable job, the side hustle is an amazing opportunity to explore doing something you love. In the end, if you find something you enjoy or that has meaningful purpose to you...
Well, the good news is that you can probably scout and hunt for the perfect pants as long and hard as you do for whitetail because they are dang hard to find and "perfect pants" seem to be as varied as "perfect boots".
For what it's worth, In my own quest for the perfect pants to suit my...
I think there's a step function in tripod quality versus pricing around $100. I wouldn't waste any (more) money below that. I've been very happy with my Vortex Summit SSP for $120 a few years back, and disappointed with everything I tried first costing less. I'm sure there's another step...
This. I've been using an Exo 3500 for the last several year, PERFECT do all for me, and lots of used 2nd and 3rd generation Exo's for sale right now with the announcement of their fourth generation. I've been seeing 2nd generation setups with a couple accessories for close to $400 and 3rd for...
I'm on a similar journey (47 years old), trying the "Fit Father Project"...they emphasize that you can't "out exercise" a bad diet, so I guess I'd vote for the diet addition. 1 large French Fry order takes half an hour of running to burn off...way more time efficient to not eat the calories...
I've kept my first bow, for many of the same reasons you mention, just sentimental value and the idea of a "backup" bow. I always think about turning into a bow fishing bow as well.
That said, I've tried to sell my 2nd, 3rd, 4th bows etc! Not always successfully as there are now 6 compounds...
Love my Exo K2 3500 for hunting, hauling meat, and training, getting close to 10 years with that pack by now!
In terms of EDC, Osprey has made my favorite daypacks in a few different sizes, I like 'em a little taller and skinny so Osprey fits the bill for day hike adventures.
Just wanted to introduce myself. Spent most my life hunting and fishing in Michigan and for the last several years I've been making a go of it (rather unsuccessfully) in California.
I'm not sure what the spine charts will say but that setup looks like it could be flirting with under-spined at 340. For my GoldTip Hunter arrows I've found that when I'm on the edge of spine boundary according to their charts I need to stiffen them up to get the tighter groups.
Anybody every had their stove get knocked over or otherwise create a fire hazard that they are willing to share? Wondering how dangerous it really is...
