Do you adjust MV or BC value of a ballistic app when field proven the ballistics?

you are correct i am fudging the numbers but those are the only numbers that are not directly measured from my rifle. So why is it better to fudge a known number (velocity) than a number that changes from rifle to rifle. The numbers you gave above i assume were at around the same speed. I dont...

Do you adjust MV or BC value of a ballistic app when field proven the ballistics?

Theres so many factors that i wouldnt say they are inflating the numbers. Speed, Twist, barrel grove, bore diameter, grove diameter, grove width etc will all impact how the bullet looks leaving the muzzle. A guy shooting a 6.5-300 weatherby and a guy shooting a 6.5 creed will see different BC...

Do you adjust MV or BC value of a ballistic app when field proven the ballistics?

The Hornady 2.25 Mach Value for a 147 ELDM is .351 and i have ran a .320 out of my last 2 NRL Hunter Rifles, a factory Bergara was .330, and my PRS rifle was a .330. (Those numbers won 3 matches and have 2 more top 3s) That matches up to the provided Mach 2.0 BC but the .351 is whats on the box...

CO archery mule deer. Pulled the tag off the leftover list and planned on just hunting with some buddies. Seating depth - does it even matter?

I have been talking with a few guys about this lately. With the development in bullets, barrel manufacturing, lapping, etc its starting to become less important for some rifles. I have a 6 Creed that doesn't care what you put in it, it will just shoot it. I have done load dev on a couple 300...

    Colorado unit 61

Like others have said I would shoot the first 330+ bull you see. In 2020 I passed up a 330 on day one and never seen another one bigger. Its hard to fight the urge of shooting a 290-300 bull but you will see a bunch of them! Have a lot of fun though its a great hunt and you will see a ton of Elk!
