I’ve used mine all season, 7-08 suppressed mounted in Warne V601 Vapor medium rings and Warne Vapor rail. Zeroed at beginning of season, covered a ton of washboard roads in Colorado in the rooftop carrier on my jeep. Also, I’m embarrassed to admit and I’ve never had this happen before and never...
301 yards, 150 Nosler Long Range Accubond, 7-08. 2740 at the muzzle, 2325 impact velocity just behind the shoulder. Complete passthrough. Ran about 30 yards uphill stopped, stood still about three seconds and then tumbled down.
150 Nosler Accubond Long Range. 2740 at the muzzle, approximately 2450 impact at 215 yards. Complete pass through just behind the shoulders. Ran about 30 yards.
Myself and my BIL played Kimber MTN Ascent roulette and won. If you are looking for ultralight, this is the easy button. Both rifles are well under 1” shooters at 100. I went with the 7-08 (discontinued) and he went with the 300 Win Mag. Here mine is in sheep hunt configuration. I took it off...
Definitely a good way to get brass. But, for me, Berger factory ammo was a bust. 6.5 Creed 140 Hybrid SRP, grouped great at 100 yards but fell apart at range. High ES/SD. Pulled a box and weighed charges, that was an eye opener I’ll never forget. Literally one grain variation in powder charge...
You should be in the ballpark between 61-62 grains. Start low and work up. I don’t have my notes handy, and I ended up sticking with the 190 LRAB to have commonality with my hunting partner. We run the exact same load.
When you check it, you have to open the case, sign an unloaded declaration form, and place it in the case, then re-lock it. Yes, only you should be able to open the locks to the case.
Just flew out of Denver with a 52” case and as MOVA says, they inspect it in a side room so you may not be able to repack it to your satisfaction. Same with Delta. Also, definitely have a lock in every place on the case that is manufactured to hold a lock. I had to buy two extra at the airport...
I second H4350. Maxed out at 62 grains and backed off from there with a 190LRAB. Ended up with a good stable load running 2880 from a 24” Proof Carbon prefit.
Loving the option not to lose the mounting screw. Guys like me who already have a rail and rings (Area 419/ARC) definitely need this option. I’d truly be doing it more because it looks amazing, with the side benefit of weight loss. That was a quick accommodation by UM. Good job.
Mine leaked like crazy before I put the oring on as shown. I thought it was useless and that I would have to drain the oil after every use like is being discussed above. After installing the oring, I haven’t had any problems with oil leaking from mine.
