    Oldest Sheep Hunter

My Dad is 76 years old and still chukar hunts a couple days a week and hikes for sheep and all other big game animals. He shot a 174 ram a few years ago. Don't become sedentary just keep moving even if it is a little bit slower.

Am buying a home with a view in Reno. Living the dream, boys.

Mt Rose area is great to hike. If you train at 6000+ feet, the hiking will be easier come hunting season.

    Searching for a new boot

I hunt with Kennetrek Mountain Extreme uninsulated. I love the ankle support and grip in the rocky chukar terrain. I have used many other boots but even when kennetrek are brand new I don't get blisters and walk all day in steep rocky terrain.

    How many boxes of shells...?

Chukar hunting I usually carry one box. plus or minus a few shells. I have only ran out of shells one time on a bad shooting day. I usually shoot between one and two cases a year.

Do you gut birds in the field?

I don't gut the birds. I breast them out and take the legs. I usually do it back at the truck unless it is in an area where a lot of people park. The coyotes, ravens, and magpies usually eat everything left in a day or two.

    6.5 PRC

6.5 PRC is a great all around rifle but if I were concentrating on an ELK Rifle I think the 300 PRC is a better choice.
