    I am an ME, and work for a little aircraft manufacturer in Colorado. One great thing about an engineering degree is that it's versatile. I've worked in R&D, product management, technical sales, quality etc. If you generally like to work, you can find a job you like with an engineering degree.

    I only have a 10 degree and I've been comfortable down to around there with my zenbivy. I have a larger size than I need to be able to add layers beneath. I'm not tempted to buy a 25 degree to save a little weight as the 10 has a very wide comfort range with the ability to open the quilt etc...

    I prefer a big enough bag to add clothing insulation layers without constriction/compression rather than dropping the cash for a super low temp bag. A thin foam pad (GG thinlight, zrest etc) is often helpful if camping on snow to reduce convection. Loose socks makes a world of difference for me...

    Zenbivy Bed?

    One big thing for me in addition to the others already mentioned was to ensure my socks/long johns were not too tight. I feel warmer with no socks than with tight socks. Also a Xtherm or similar pad makes a huge difference in the cold.

    Awesome. This is helpful. Thanks for the detailed reply. DD S-TI, TBAC, and Nomad Ti were on my short list for my 300 win mag build. Recoil reduction is probably neck and neck with sound reduction on my decision tree.
